Form meets function in Konig's K-Summit tire chains. Unlike typical snow chains, the K-Summit chains require no attachments behind the wheel. Simply place two of the traction plates on top of the tire and fasten the K-Summit XXL to the wheel's lug nut or bolt with the easy-to-use fixing key. Activate the chain's ratcheting mechanism and you'll be ready to roll. As you drive away, the traction plates clamp onto the tire surface, and the chain adjusts to conform to the tire perfectly, providing a precise fit even on worn tires. After use, fold up the tire chains and store them in the compact, reusable carrying case.

The K-Summit XXL delivers an extremely user-friendly design. Each chain sits on top of your tire's treads instead of wrapping around the entire wheel. This design not only eliminates the threat of scratches to your wheels, but it also ensures that there is no interference with any suspension or braking components on the inside of the wheel well.

Konig snow chains are handmade in Italy of hardened manganese-nickel alloy steel for durability. The reduced-clearance, D-shape links provide superior traction for excellent grip on snow and ice. The durable plastic traction plates have metal studs to give you superior grip while also providing a high level of driving comfort.

K-Summit Installation

How to Install the K-Summit Snow Chain:

  1. Lay 2 of the chains traction plates on top of the tire.
  2. Attach chain to 1 wheel nut.
  3. Activate the ratchet, which tightens as you drive away.

K-Summit Lug Nut Adapter

Lug Nut Adapter

Attach the lug nut adapter that matches your wheel bolt size to the fixing key. The most commonly used adapters are included with your K-Summit snow chains. (etrailer.com's custom fitguide will indicate whether your vehicle requires an adapter that is sold separately.) The fixing key then mounts to the wheel bolt on the end where the adapter has been affixed. The other end attaches to the K-Summit base, which includes the ratcheting mechanism that tensions the chains as you drive.

How to Choose Snow Chains for Your Vehicle

To choose the right snow chains, you must match your tire size. Those measurements can be found on the side of your tire, as shown below.

Tire size on sidewall

185/60-15

  1. (185) - indicates the width
  2. (60) - gives you the aspect ratio (sidewall height as percentage of width)
  3. (15) - denotes the diameter of the wheel expressed in inches

They do! I verified for you that the Konig Premium snow tire chains you asked about will fit size 285/45-22 tires on your Chevy Tahoe; the correct part number is the following: - Konig Premium Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains # KON84FR The Konig # KON84FR are a smart choice because they will only contact your tire's tread and not the wheel or the inside of the wheel well. This not only keeps your Tahoe's wheels safe from damage, but also forgoes any worry about clearance issues inside...

  • What Premium Tire Chains do You Recommend for My 285/45-22 Tires on My 2017 Toyota Land Cruiser?
The "114H" on your non-standard 285/45-22 Nitta tires on your 2017 Toyota Land Cruiser refer to the load index and does not have any importance to the tire size itself. It refers to the amount of weight your tires can safely hold. With that being said, a great premium set of change that will work great for your tires is the Konig Premium Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern # KON84FR. These chains are chains that not only come with self-tensioners to take the headache away...

  • 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 Tire Chain Recommendation for 275/65-18 Tires
Under normal circumstances I'd recommend using the XD16 Pro Konig Snow Tire Chains # KON94FR because they are heavy-duty and still have built-in self-tensioning that you're looking for, but the owner's manual for your 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 says not to use chains on the 275/65-18 size tires so I recommend using the K-Summit XXL Konig Premium Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains # KON84FR instead. The K-Summits install by securing to one of the lug nuts instead of wrapping around the back...

I checked the owner's manual for your 2021 Ram 4 X 4 and the do not recommend snow tire chains on your 285/45-22 sized tires. If you decide to go with tire chains, the Class S compatible snow tire chain will be a better option. These snow tire chains are designed to fit wheel wells with tight clearances. There will not be a v-bar option that is Class S compatible. The Konig Snow Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern - D Link - XD16 Pro - Size 274, part # KON94FR, are Class S compatible snow tire...

  • Tire Chain Recommendation for a 2011 GMC Yukon Denali
Since your 2011 GMC Yukon Denali owner's manual says not to use tire chains due to lack of clearance, the only tire chain I recommend going with is the Konig K-Summit XXL K78 # KON84FR because it mounts directly to the lug nuts and then only sits on your tire treads - there is no chain that sits on the back of your tire sidewall so you won't have any clearance issues. Obviously this is a premium option which is reflected in the price. You can try using a low clearance chain like the Konig...

  • 2013 Ford F-150 Tire Chain Recommendation for 275/55-20 Size Tires
The only tire chains that I recommend installing on the 275/55R20 tires for your 2013 Ford F-150 are the Konig K-Summit XXL K78 # KON84FR. Reason being is when I looked up the online manual for your F-150 it stated not to use chains if you have the 275/55R20 tires (among other sizes) due to clearance issues. The K-Summit chains secure to your lug nuts and the chains only touch the treads so there aren't any issues with clearance on the back side of your tire and this option is safe. You...

Although there are multiple tire chain options for 285/45-22 tires, they won't all work on a 2020 Lincoln Navigator due to clearance restrictions. This is a very large tire so your only real option are the Konig Premium Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains part # KON84FR since they don't mount inside the tire. If you decide to use snow tire chains that have thicker links, you do so at your own risk. Most of these snow tire chains will have the Class S designation.
