Features to know about

Smooth Ride on Rough Roads: 2-Leaf Slipper Spring Flexes to Absorb Shock

Bumpy roads and uneven ground can shake a trailer apart. This 2-leaf slipper spring flexes to absorb road shock so the trailer rides smoother and stays level. With a 1,000-lb axle capacity and 500-lb spring capacity, it helps protect the frame, cargo, and running gear from harsh impacts. Each spring measures 24-5/8" from the center of the eye to the end of the radius slipper, giving just the right balance of flex and strength for light-duty use.

Solid Connection and Easy Fit: 1-3/4" Wide Steel with 9/16" Nylon-Bushed Eye

A steady suspension starts with solid mounting points. This spring is built from sturdy 1-3/4" wide steel and includes a pre-installed nylon bushing with a 9/16" inside diameter to fit standard suspension bolts. The eye mounts to the front hanger, while the radius-end slipper slides cleanly into the rear hanger or equalizer. It’s a straightforward fit that restores proper axle alignment and smooth suspension movement.

Reliable Construction for Long Service Life: 1/4" Thick Leaves Handle Real-World Use

Thin or worn springs can sag and throw off your trailer’s geometry. Each of the two 1/4" thick steel leaves shares the load, keeping the axle positioned right under the frame. That sturdiness helps the spring maintain its shape mile after mile, reducing wear on tires and other suspension parts.

Perfect Match for Pair Replacement and Custom Builds

Leaf springs should always be replaced in pairs, and this single 2-leaf slipper spring makes that easy. Use two for a balanced setup on both sides of the axle, or select them for a light custom build rated around 1,000 lbs. The radius-end design fits hangers spaced 22-11/16" center-to-center, making it a direct fit for many standard slipper suspension layouts.

  • Is There a Difference Between etrailer Slipper Spring e36SR and SP-177275
Hey David, there actually isn't a difference between the Slipper Spring # e36SR and the SP-177275. We just use a different part number.

  • Replacement Axle w/a 54-1/2" Hub Face
Sorry Mike, the closest axle we have to that size is going to be 3" longer at a 57-1/2" hub face. It is the CE Smith Trailer Axle w/ Idler Hubs item # CE33201GA-HUB. Not sure about your fender set up but this axle may work, however it's going to stick out an extra 1-1/2" on either side. The CE Smith Axle item # CE33201GA-HUB includes idler hubs that have a 5 on 4-1/2" lug pattern. This is a square axle beam with a 1,800 lbs capacity. For a 13" wheel tire combo, I recommend the Kenda...

  • What Info is Needed to Pick Out Replacement Slipper Spring for Harbor Freight Trailer
Hey Steven, I would need you to get me the dimensions of your springs to see what you'd need as we don't have a way to look up what your trailer has. Especially since its a slipper setup which has a bit more variance. If you can get me the length, width, and the axle capacity that would be what I would need.

  • Can Radius or Flat Springs Be Used to Replace Hook Springs
Unfortunately no, Drew. You could use flat springs to replace radius springs, but since the brackets are different you wouldn't be able to use radius or flat springs to replace your hook springs.

  • Replacement 4.80-12 Trailer Wheel and Tire for Jet Ski Trailer
Hey Timothy, if the leaf springs have bolt holes on both ends that would mean you have double-eye springs actually. Unless the bolts are on the hangers of the trailer frame? If you can get back to me with that for sure we can determine what you need. Also do you know the axle capacity? I am sure it's lower since it's jet-ski trailer but that's other piece of info we need. As far as U-bolts go I would need to know the diameter of your axles to be sure we get right size. The typical size...

  • Can A Leaf Spring For A 2,000 lb Axle Be Replaced With A Spring For A 1,000 lb Axle?
Hello Jonah, thanks for reaching out. As long as the spring length is the same it would be possible to replace your spring with something lower rated. It should make the ride softer but you would also be reducing the weight capacity of your trailer since the springs would only be rated for 1,000 lb total. As long as you wouldn't be overloading the springs, that would work fine.

  • Replacement Lead Spring Solution for a 1975 Dilly Trailer with Slipper Springs and 930 lb GAWR
Hey Sean, thanks for reaching out! All of the options we carry fit what you found, so you might try reaching out to a local trailer shop to see if they are able to custom order you some replacement leaf springs. Aside from that, the only other solution we have is to have your old hangers cut off and new ones, like the Kit # APS3SE, welded on so a shorter slipper spring like the 24-5/8" # e36SR can be used.

  • Can Radius End Leaf Spring Be Used to Replace Flat End Leaf Spring
As long as the 2-Leaf Slipper Spring w/ Radius End for 1,000-lb Trailer Axles - 24-5/8" Long # e36SR is the same length as your current flat-end spring you can use it as a replacement. The only "radius" style of leaf spring that can't be used as a replacement for a flat end spring is if it has the hook end like what we see with the Dexter Axle # DX93QR. With this design you can't fit it in that same bracket as your flat end spring. Attached is a review video for you to check out.

  • Replacement Slipper Spring For a Boat Trailer With 4-Leaf Spring 25.5" Long
The closest size we have to a 25.5" slipper spring is 24-5/8". Do understand that this may be the correct size for your application since as leaf springs sag and get flatter they also get longer in length. Also the amount of leaves a spring uses does not always account for the weight they can carry so be sure to check your boat trailers axle capacity and match it to the correct springs. 2-Leaf Slipper Spring w/ Radius End for 1,000-lb Trailer Axles # e36SR 3-Leaf Slipper Spring w/ Radius...

  • Upgraded Replacement Leaf Springs for Malone Microsport Trailer

  • Can I Replace Leaf Springs With Lower Rating For Better Ride Quality
Yes, you can swap from the 3-Leaf Slipper Spring w/ Radius End for 1,500-lb Trailer Axles - 24-5/8" Long # e99SR to the 2-Leaf Slipper Spring w/ Radius End for 1,000-lb Trailer Axles - 24-5/8" Long # e36SR to help reduce how much shock is being transferred to your trailer frame. My only caution going this route is to make sure you don't overload the leaf springs since you're reducing their weight rating. Attached is a review video for you to check out.

It sure is James and thanks for the information! The 24-5/8" Long 2-Leaf Slipper Spring w/ Radius End item # e36SR would be a great option. This 1-3/4" wide spring is sold individually and has a 500 lbs capacity. It measures 24-5/8" Long overall and from the center of the mounting eye to where it sits on the slipper will be 22-11/16". The 2-Leaf Slipper Spring w/ Radius End # e36SR is designed to fit hangers with a center bolt to center bolt of 22-11/16". This will be close enough to your 22-1/2" center to center measurement. Each spring is rated for 500lbs so as long as your trailer and the cargo do not exceed 1,000lbs they are going to work for the capacity you are needing.
