Features to know about

Smoother Towing on Rough Roads: Heavy-Duty Gas Shocks Reduce Bounce and Sway

Bumps, dips, and uneven pavement don’t have to jolt your trailer. The Roadmaster Comfort Ride Leaf Spring Suspension Kit w/ Shock Absorbers uses heavy-duty, nitrogen-charged shocks to absorb vibration and limit up-and-down movement. These shocks cut bouncing, chucking, and porpoising by up to 50%, bringing a calm, stable feel even over gravel or cobblestones. The result is a smoother, quieter ride where gear stays put inside and handling stays precise.

Steadier Stopping Power: Independent Axle Operation Boosts Traction by 70%

Traditional equalizers transfer shock between axles, causing axle roll-up and lost traction under braking. This system replaces that setup with fixed center hanger boxes that isolate each axle. That independent design prevents shock transfer and keeps all six tires gripping evenly, improving braking traction by as much as 70%. It means better control, shorter stopping distances, and a safer tow overall.

Quiet, Controlled Suspension: Slipper Springs with Built-In Rollers

The included slipper leaf springs slide inside the hanger boxes on rollers rather than pivoting on a central bolt. Each spring’s movement translates into smooth front-to-back motion instead of harsh jolts. The rollers keep the spring ends from hopping, reducing noise and vibration while taking the edge off potholes and dips. This setup feels controlled and balanced, not choppy or loose.

Built to Last: Maintenance-Free Never Fail Bushings and 3,500-lb Springs

Each of the six slipper leaf springs has a 3,500-lb capacity and is made from 4 leaves of 3/8" thick steel, measuring 27" long x 1-3/4" wide. The spring eyes come with Never Fail bushings pre-installed—constructed with molybdenum and graphite for durability that outlasts brass or nylon without needing grease. It’s a low-maintenance setup that stays quiet and strong mile after mile.

Straightforward Bolt-On Install: Complete Kit for Triple 7K Axles

Designed for 3" diameter axles typically rated between 5,200 lbs and 7,000 lbs, this kit includes six slipper springs, four center hanger boxes, and six shocks. The parts bolt over existing hangers for a secure fit with minimal drilling. When installed, the suspension geometry stays true, and the trailer ride height remains unchanged—just smoother, steadier, and ready for long miles ahead.

I am very happy with the Roadmaster suspension kit I installed on my Toy Hauler.
The leaf springs are much more beefier than the original leaf springs and I do not worry about broken springs anymore. I have to think the shock absorbers are making for a much smoother ride going down the road and everything inside the trailer is being protected from the constant vibrations.
by:
Very happy with the product, still performing as expected,
Thanks you Allison K for all your help .

Possibly the best upgrade for any camper. No more road seam feedback to the truck, everything inside the camper stays put during travel. If you're questioning if it's worth the cost, it it. Roadmaster customer service was very helpful with getting the correct kit identified.

Glad they are working well for you, Dillon! I don't think I have ever heard a bad review of this system as it just gets the job done! ^___^ What did you install it on?

by:
Had this system installed on 2021 Vanleigh Pinecrest 330MKP by Prestige Trailer Solutions Hudson,Fl Extremely happy with the install and product.Noticeably smoother ride, very little chucking and tires no longer hitting outriggers going over bumps.

That's great to hear, Norm! How often are you out towing the camper?

by:
Very Happy with the Roadmaster Suspension! A must have item! (Along with my previously installed X-Factor cross braces)
Anything to smooth out the beating that our US roads provide, is a good thing for both the 5th wheel frame/structure and our contents inside. Thank you etrailer and Roadmaster! 2022 GD Solitude 310GK. Note: Frame repair plates in photos were to repair 3" frame cracks that formed prior to installing Roadmaster and X-Factors.

By far the best upgrade to our 5th wheel RV. It pulls and rides like a dream now.

After a complete frame rebuild and reinforcement caused by weak factory suspension. There is no question the Roadmaster suspension is still the best upgrade we have done on our 5th wheel RV.

Etrailer sent the spring kit in a timely manner. I had help for shipping from support because the 8k springs seemed to be out of stock so I had to switch from the 7k I originally ordered. We got it sorted out eventually, thanks Etrailer! Roadmaster has a good price for a suspension kit and not much difference in price between the kits, which is why I opted for the heaviest. We carry a lot of stuff as full time Nomads! It came in two heavy boxes, so I took the parts out to move them around. The instructions were pretty good, a couple spots required some head scratching. I did not lift the whole trailer up at once but did it one side after another. Probably would have been a little easier to lift the whole trailer to line things up. The kit worked as expected, very robust. We have traveled the country and up to Alaska with the springs and so far, no complaints! I opted for the heaviest kit 8K which might be overkill for my 7K axles, so the ride is a bit more rough/stiff that our previous experience with the poor flat out springs and shocks on our Arctic Fox 295t. New things bounce around, but that is life in a trailer, right?

You really put this kit to the test! How was Alaska?

by:
Love the way the trailer reacts to the bridge ramps and bad roads with the RoadMaster Comfort Ride system. When the camper bounces over a bridge ramp it settles down immediately. There is virtually no side to side rocking while going down the road.
by:
Working great on my 2930rl solitude 5 thousand miles so far
by:
These work great, so much better than stock leaf springs. I had to replace the Stock Springs twice. So far these are holding up very well. It’s been a year.
by:
The Roadmaster system is a very robust, well-engineered system. I have not towed with it yet but can only assume, because of the design, that my towing experience will be greatly improved.
by:
Really made a big difference in ride and smoothness, things don't get thrown around the 5th wheel anymore. Great addition

Really like the Roadmaster comfort ride suspension. It greatly reduces movement of products inside the 5th wheel while towing compared to the original CRE 3000, often on decent roads nothing moves at all, on rough roads still some movement but nothing like before. Strongly recommend

by:
Easy install in the driveway, completed in 2 evenings after work. This kit changes the way the trailer rides and it was very noticeable. We have a 17,000lb toy hauler with a Reese Goosebox hitch, the hitch made a difference but due to the factory suspension we would still feel every jolt on the road. Once this kit was installed and accompanied by our new G load range tires, the fifth wheel feels more planted to the road and has minimal sway or fore and aft movements. Definitely worth the investment.
by:
We've run about 7,000 miles since we installed the Roadmaster Comfort ride kit. I can definitely tell that the 5th wheel doesn't bounce as much as it did with the CRE 3000 suspension. And I haven't had any tire issues since installing either.
by:
The comfort ride system in my opinion is far superior to the standard leaf springs system. With fewer moving parts and the ability to act as an independent suspension system it outperforms the standard leaf springs.
by:
This kit was relatively easy to install with a little mechanical knowledge and tools. Definitely a great upgrade to most OME suspension systems.
by:
The system is well designed and was easy to install. The only items missing from the kit that are needed are new u-bolts, the old ones are too short for the new heavy duty hardware and new ones should be included with the kit.
by:
OMG! After having the trailer bottom out on the stock springs while traversing a RR crossing, this system has proven to be amazing. Returning from a VA campground I crossed multiple RR crossings and traveled some rough pavement. I found I had left a bottle of shower soap on the ledge in the shower! It was still there when I set up in my yard. Not possible with the stock suspension!

This was the best thing I could have done to make the 5th wheel experience a good one. Prior to installing failing to properly secure things in the trailer would not end well. After the install, items remained where they were last placed.

by:
I am very impressed with this kit. The quality of the pieces are exceptional and the instructions are easy to follow and understand. I did it with no help, just take your time. I hope it helps improve the ride of the camper to help soften our horrible roads and reduce the strain on the camper.
by:
This is a great suspension upgrade for your camper. The ride quality after installation is much improved, noticeably smoother towing and no more worries about bust leafspring or shackles. Took about 4 or 5 hours to install with basic tools in my driveway. Definitely recommend upgrading.
by:
I have had the suspension kit on for over a year now and I would do it again. The springs and all the hardware seem to be of much higher quality that the OEM stuff that was on the trailer. After the install, (which I did myself. Not a real hard job) the camper rides and tows much smoother. between the slipper springs and adding shocks the stuff inside the camper is pretty much where it was when we packed it. So I am hoping it will extend the life of the camper by not beating itself to death when towed.
by:
We made our trip from Florida to Utah and back and we didn’t have the rear blinds falling off as it rode much smoother! Much easier to maintain too!
