Highlights

  • Custom Fit for Your Van: Vehicle-specific brackets and hardware position the air springs for your van's rear suspension.
  • Level Demanding Rear Loads: Up to 7,500 lbs of supplemental support helps reduce rear sag with substantial trailer or cargo weight.
  • Match Support to the Load: Adjust air pressure to suit changing towing and hauling loads instead of running one fixed level of support.
  • Run at 0 psi Unloaded: Internal jounce bumpers let you bleed the air springs down to 0 psi once the extra load comes off.
  • Built for Life Under Your Van: Stainless steel hardware and braided air lines add corrosion resistance where the system faces road spray and weather.
  • Upgrade Your Air Control: Add a compatible onboard compressor or control system for more convenient pressure changes.

Features to know about

More Support for Demanding Rear Loads

Your van can feel composed empty, then change quickly once substantial trailer tongue weight, equipment, or a heavy cargo payload settles onto the rear suspension. The two adjustable rear air springs provide up to 7,500 lbs of load-leveling support to help bring a sagging rear back toward normal ride height while reducing sway and bottoming under load. Instead of treating that capacity as a target, you can tune the air pressure to the weight your van is actually carrying.

Heavy-Duty Support That Backs Off When You Do

A van built for serious towing or hauling may still spend plenty of miles without that weight on the rear suspension. Internal jounce bumpers let you increase air pressure when a substantial load calls for more support, then reduce the air springs to 0 psi when the extra weight comes off. Those internal jounces protect the air springs against bottoming when suspension travel is used up, so you don't have to maintain air pressure simply to protect the bags during unloaded driving. The result is adjustable support that can work around both sides of your van's job instead of treating every mile like a loaded one.

Corrosion Resistance Where Exposure Hits Hardest

Suspension hardware lives where road spray, dirt, and weather reach it, so material choices matter underneath your van. This kit uses braided stainless steel air lines along with stainless steel fittings, Schrader valves, roll plates, and mounting hardware to add corrosion resistance throughout key parts of the system. That extra durability is focused where it matters, helping the hardware you rely on for load support and pressure adjustment stand up to the environment beneath a working van.

Custom Installation

You'll start by measuring your van's stock ride height and checking tire-to-frame clearance before removing the factory jounce bumpers and axle strike blocks, with rear-wheel removal optional if you want more working room. The sway bar is temporarily disconnected during that process, then reinstalled before the air spring assemblies mount between the frame and axle using clamp-style hardware in the existing jounce locations and vehicle-specific support brackets, with some wiring temporarily moved if needed for clearance. Once the springs are positioned, aligned, and secured around the axle, you'll install the included exhaust heat shield, then route the braided stainless steel air lines away from brake lines, fuel lines, wiring, and other potential trouble spots, leaving enough slack for suspension movement before mounting the Schrader valves where they're easy to reach. Adding air bags is a job experienced DIYers can handle, but if you would rather leave it to a professional, we can help you find an installer near you.

Upgrade Your Air Control

The included Schrader valves give you everything you need to adjust the air springs manually, but pulling out an external compressor can get old when your van regularly switches between demanding loads and unloaded driving. You can add a Pacbrake Bravo Wireless Air Control Kit with XD Compressor (sold separately) to adjust pressure from your phone, check live pressure, and save presets for loads you come back to regularly. Also, you'll be able to choose between filling both air springs together or controlling them independently when the load isn't even side to side. It's an optional upgrade, but one that makes the adjustable part of an air-spring system much easier to use regularly. And it's not the only solution available. There are a variety of compressor options from Pacbrake that might be the perfect fit for your setup.

Video Transcript for Review of Pacbrake Vehicle Suspension - Alpha XD Pro Rear Axle Air Bag Kit Jounce Stainless - PB75XV

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Pacbrake Alpha XD Pro rear axle airbag suspension kit with internal jounce bumpers and stainless steel hardware. Now, this has been designed to fit your 2007 to current Sprinter 2500 and 3500s. Now, it is important that you do go through our Vehicle Fit Guide here at etrailer. Just input the year, make, and model of your vehicle and answer any other questions that it might have for you, and then our Fit Guide will confirm if this will work for your particular Sprinter, or if we have something comparable that will work for you.

So, as you know, when the load gets heavy and your Sprinter needs more than just those rear springs hanging on for dear life, these airbags are going to help with that. These are going to add up to 7,500 pounds of rear axle support. It's gonna help keep your Sprinter level and steady even when, for instance, if the trailer that you have hooked up to it is loaded, the cargo area is packed and the miles are long. So with this system, you're not gonna have to worry about that rear end sag anymore that's gonna throw off your braking or steering or make your headlights point up into the sky. Now, bottoming out just doesn't feel rough, it can actually wreck your bags.

That's why this system includes jounce bumpers inside of each bag, as you can see on that cutaway there. So even with no air pressure, your suspension has a built-in safety net. You're gonna be able to safely run at 0 psi when unloaded, which means no harsh rebound, just that smooth factory style ride. Now this kit does include these stainless steel braided air lines. They're gonna be more durable and resistant to wear compared to standard rubber lines.

You're also going to get these stainless steel roll plates, which are gonna help protect the airbags along with Schrader valves so that you can easily inflate or adjust the air pressure using a standard air source. On your screen, I'm showing you all the hardware that you're getting. The top photo there is going to be the standard hardware that's just going to come with this, along with the brackets and the air line. But the bottom photo shows you the stainless steel hardware upgrade kit that also comes with this. So you're not gonna use every piece of hardware that you see there, but I just wanted you to get a good idea of everything that you're gonna be getting.

I didn't have the room on my tabletop to display all of that there for you. Now that stainless steel is going to be a big upgrade for you, because they're built to last in harsh conditions. Obviously, it's gonna resist rust and corrosion a whole lot better than the standard hardware. Also, it's stronger and less prone to damage, so you're gonna be less likely to deal with leaks or wear over time. So these air springs are gonna give you full control over your ride height and firmness with adjustable air pressure from 5 to 100 psi. So for instance, if you're hauling a fifth-wheel or a full bed of gravel, you can crank that pressure up and then when you're unloaded and heading home, drop that pressure back down for a softer ride. These springs are built with 1-inch thick corrosion resistant end caps, and they're reinforced with 20 internal support wires for maximum strength under load. In my opinion, everything about Pacbrake is premium. The airbags, the hardware, and especially these precision laser-cut brackets, they're powder coated, they're designed to bolt cleanly to your Sprinter's existing mounting points without welding or drilling to your frame. So again, you're gonna get up to 7,500 pounds of additional leveling support, but just be aware of the fact that air springs don't actually increase your Sprinter's weight carrying capacity, so you do wanna make sure that you're not exceeding your manufacturer's recommended weight limits. If you would like help with the installation, on this product page, underneath the photo section, we do have a link that you can click that will take you to our Installer Locator. Just answer the questions that it has for you and that Locator will find in your area an installer that etrailer has partnered with to do the install for you. But if you have any other questions, don't hesitate to reach out to us. We do wanna make sure that you're getting exactly what you need. Well, again, my name's Andy. Thank you for joining me.
