When the road gets bumpy, a stock equalizer can send every hit straight through the frame. These Equa-Flex cushioned equalizers use rubber cores that soak up vibration and minimize the back-and-forth motion known as chucking. The result is a smoother ride that protects your trailer and everything inside. Rated for 4,000 lbs – 6,000 lbs axles, they deliver the kind of comfort normally found with torsion setups but without the extra cost or complexity.
Standard cast equalizers wear quickly and can creak or loosen up over time. The Equa-Flex design replaces them with sturdy steel that’s finished in a corrosion-resistant black powder coat. Each equalizer comes with six pre-installed bronze bushings that handle constant movement without binding or wearing out. The build quality keeps the suspension geometry tight so your tandem-axle setup stays reliable mile after mile.
Getting the geometry right makes all the difference in how your suspension travels. These equalizers measure 5-1/2" between the left and right bolt holes (center on center), 2-3/4" between the hanger hole and side hole, and 2-1/2" from the side bolt hole to the hanger bolt hole. They’re made for tandem-axle trailers with double-eye leaf springs, and the 9/16" bolt holes (with bushings installed) match standard suspension hardware. The bushings are already seated, so you can bolt them in place using standard hardware and shackle straps (each sold separately).
Once installed, there’s nothing to grease or adjust. The maintenance-free bushings and rubber cores work quietly in the background, taking the edge off every bump and stretch of rough pavement. It’s a simple suspension upgrade that makes towing feel calmer, smoother, and easier every time you hit the road.

It has been working out well. I have done several trips with the new components installed and everything works as it should. I do wonder if I should install the X-Factor braces for my application. The equalizer did raise the trailer about 1.5 inches and the center bracket could probably use more support. I’m not an engineer, but it seems logical.

Leroy,I contacted Lippert and it is possible to change out the integrated bronze bushings for never fail bushings on the sides of the equalizer. The original bushings can be switched out for 11/16 bushings.

Initially it was a little difficult to get the correct size for my application, but after a call to E Trailer we figured it out. I think the trailer is riding better and some of the jarring shocks from our horrible roads have gotten better.
