Question:

The axles on my tandem trailer are rated at 4000 lbs each, there's not a lot of clearance on the slide over the wheels, research indicates that the EquaFlex could give me about an extra inch of clearance, the distance between axles is 33" if I went with the equaflex, what would I need to avoid a harsh ride?

You can replace the TruRyde Triangular Equalizer # TREQ310 with the Equa-Flex Cushioned Equalizers # LC279688, however there are a few things that you should take note of.

First of all you will want to make sure that your axles are rated for 6K to 8K otherwise the ride will be too stiff. The second thing to notice is the dimensions of the centers of the eyes where your bolts will go. The TruRyde measures a width of 6-1/16" and a height of 4" while the Equa-Flex has a measurement of 7-1/2" for width and 5" for height. This means that you will most likely have to change out your shackle straps and readjust your whole suspension setup.

If you install the Equa-Flex and your shackle straps still form a "W" and everything is level then you are good to go, but since there is at least an inch difference in width and height it is very unlikely.

Should your axles not be 6K to 8K just let me know what they are rated for and I can make some recommendations for you.

Since you have 4k axles the better choice for the Equa Flex is the part # LC279687 which has same dimensions but is for 4 to 6k axles. This would fit well and give you a great ride quality.
