Question:
I have a 2022 Coachman Apex 215RBK travel trailer. Tandem axles. The axle spacing is 31in. Trailer is approx 4400 lbs. Im debating between the Equa-Flex Double Eye Spring 3k to 6k tandem, the Morryde Alltrek 4000 or the Dexter K71-654 6k tandem to upgrade my suspension. I would like to know which one is the best for this trailer ? 2nd best ? Thanks

Hey Rick, welcome back. The Equa-Flex Cushioned Equalizers item # LC279687 and the Dexter E-Z Flex item # K71-654-00 are pretty identical. They both have rubber cores that help absorb road shock and limit chucking. Dimensionally the Dexter E-Z Flex item # K71-654-00 is going to be a better replacement option. The Equa-Flex item # LC279687 is going to move around a bit more and may slightly increase your ride height but we're talking a 1/4" at most.
The MORryde ALLTREK 4000 item # MR89DR is going to be too big for your trailer. It's 6-1/2" wide by 5-3/8" tall. There's no closer option.
It looks like your trailer uses 2-1/4" long shackle straps, I recommend using the MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit for Tandem Axle Trailers item # MR46ZR when you replace your equalizers. When you swap out your equalizers is it is recommended to replace your suspension bolts as they are only meant to be torqued down once. This kit includes wet bolts with grease fittings built in for easy maintenance, along with bronze bushings for durability.
Are you interested in replacing your leaf springs while you have most of your suspension taken apart?

Hey Rick, how did the suspension upgrade go on your Coachman Apex trailer? I'm curious if the Dexter E-Z Flex ended up giving you the smoother ride you were after. Your update could make it easier for others comparing these equalizers.
