We broke the original Peterson lights on the trailer after 20 yrs and chose to replace them with Peterson lights again as we never had any issues with the original one and the wiring was a plug and play which made it easy to install.

I ordered 2 Peterson tail lights to replace the broken ones on my Kendon stand-up M/C trailer. They were exact replacements and the job was over in twenty minutes. Very easy. That was only the product. What was really exceptional was the service. When I placed the order I was expecting a two week or longer turn around as so many other online dealers take, but e=trailer shipped my order immediately and I had them on the fourth day. My old round metal Peterson tail lights got to be very old a dim, had them since 1987.

As always, I very satisfied with my purchase from, etrailer. I have bought from them before and always get great service and products. The lights arrived in a timely fashion at a very good price. Upon opening the box, I was initially puzzled by the lack of wiring pigtails. Darn, I guess I need to order a plug; OK, it's been a long time since I changed my trailer lights. Oh, but after a little research, such was not so. The trailer wires simply pressed into the rear of the light housing and self tapped - how simple. Maybe, a sliver of paper instructions enclosed would have been in order. Maybe not.....
Overall, I am most pleased with my dealings with eTrailer.

I purchased these lights as replacements for my utility trailer. As with most trailers of this type, grounding is usually a problem for one reason or another. These lights should solve any grounding problems because they eliminate the grounding wire and are grounded directly to the trailer frame using the mounting bolts. Maintenance will easy, as well.....the lenses and bulbs can be replaced simply by removing 4 screws. I'll admit, I'm a little skeptical of the way the wiring to the lights are attached.....bare the wire and insert it into a hole in the back of the light where they are anchored by an onboard clip. If this works as described, that will make these lights the go-to replacements. As easy as it gets.

Its pretty rare for a taillight to go bad within 2 months of installation. Id recommend doing a little troubleshooting. Use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 on the wires leading to the lamp as each lighting function is activated. If you dont have a circuit tester, you can always swap the non-functioning lamp to the other side of the trailer. If the lamp works on the other side, then its a wiring issue, not a defective lamp. Its also possible that the bulb is bad. This lamp uses a readily available 1157 bulb, which we offer as part # A1157B. If its not a wiring issue, then the lamp is defective.

I replaced both lights on my small boat trailer. I had never seen this type of electrical contact before but the wires were still attached to the existing Peterson light so I copied that connection, which was very easy. I would suggest that Peterson include a simple diagram with its trailer light for those of us unfamiliar with that connection.

They appear to be durable high-quality products with a reasonable price.

I have used Peterson lights for many decades. I stick with them because they maintain a decent quality level. But, I ordered a driver side light and a passenger side light about two weeks apart in two separate orders. On both lights, 1 or both of the threads on the 1/4" X 20 mounting bolts were damaged right on the end of the bolt. This made starting the hex nut impossible. I happened to have a thread file which allowed me to clean the threads up and solve the problem. It just seemed odd to me that this issue occurred. I gave them a 5 star rating anyway because I know Peterson builds a good product and I have used these particular lights for many years without issue.

Bought only one because it was broken against a wall backing, The local parts house had one to get trip finished. Found later the bulb socket twisted completely out taken bulb out to dielectric grease the base. so parts house cheap PETERSON was my original lighting as a new trailer. Thanks etrailer.

Looks good although right around the edges of the lens there are tiny gaps, which I would think will let water in (and out). Haven't installed it yet but with the easy to use wiring connections, no soldering!

Lost the left license lens at some point (and didn't know it). Brake/turn light quit working on left side, went to troubleshoot it and found bulb and base assembly corroded together, easier to order an exact replacement and install it. Now things work great again, even with shipping, cheaper than I could find a replacement light locally (that didn't match) for less than half the cost. THANKS etrailer!!

It really all depends on what trailer light kit you have installed on your boat trailer. Some kits are designed to withstand submersion and other kits aren't. Adapter for Mercedes Benz ML 350 Towing Trailer With LEDs to Prevent Hyper Flash
German vehicles really don't like towing trailers that have LED taillights unfortunately since the amperage is so low but we do have a solution for this with the # C57003 for if your trailer has a 7-way or the part # C35FR for if it has a 4-way. I am assuming you are referring to the Peterson Square Trailer Tail Light part # 432400. If this is the case, on the back of the taillight assembly, there are 4 wire holes for each function located at the top of the tail light assembly. The driver's side lamp, part # 432400 has an additional function that the # 432200 passenger side lamp does not. Recommended Replacement Clearance Lights With Only Wire
It's normal for some clearance lights to ground through the mounting screw instead of running an extra wire so there's nothing wrong with that. For the amber clearance lights you can use part # MCL67AB and for the red part # MCL67RB. Your old ID bar must have grounded through its mounting hardware since it only had the one wire. ID bar # MCL97RB also has just one wire and grounds through the mounting hardware. The replacement lens for the 440-151 light you have is not a lens we carry. You may want to consider a replacement light. You would need part # 432200 for the right side or part # 432400 for the left side. The cost for these is not much more than a replacement lens. You won't need to re-wire the tail lights. The 440-15L has been replaced with the Peterson Combination Trailer Tail Light - 7 part # 432400 and part # 432400 which does work best with 18 gauge wire however if you having trouble getting the wires to catch in the sockets you can strip more coating away and fold up the ends of the wire to double them before sticking them in the holes on the back of the light.
