Swapping out worn or damaged hubs doesn’t get easier than this. The Redline Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 3,500-lb axles comes complete with everything you need for the job—bearings, races, grease seal, grease cap, wheel bolts, and lug nuts are all included. Each hub has a 1,750-lb capacity and a sturdy iron build that holds up well under regular towing. You can install it right out of the box without hunting for extra hardware or guessing which parts match.
This hub is designed to fit standard #84 spindles found on most 3,500-lb trailer axles. It uses inner bearing L68149 (1.378" inner diameter) and outer bearing L44649 (1.063" inner diameter) for a secure, smooth fit. The included grease seal 58846 has a 1.719" inner and 2.565" outer diameter to seat properly on the spindle. If your spindle measurements line up with those values, this hub drops right in without modification.
The 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern makes this hub compatible with a wide range of wheel sizes from 14-1/2" to 16-1/2". It uses 1/2" diameter wheel bolts for a solid connection to your wheel and even load distribution across the studs. The grease cap flange diameter measures 1.986", with an outer bore diameter of 3.09", keeping things centered and running true mile after mile.

1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

The hub was very easy to install. The only problem I had was installing the wheel bearing hubs. It took many tries to get them on.
