I have a trailer with 6 lug hubs and 2 3/8 OD pipe axle .How can this be possible

2-3/8 inch diameter axles are typically 3,500 lb capacity axles. There are 3,500 lb rated hubs that have a 6 on 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern like the part # 84655UC1 so your setup is very possible.
