  • Trailer Coupler Recommendation that Fits 2 inch Wide Trailer Trailer Tongue
While Demco does not have a coupler that fits on 2 inch wide trailer channel we do have the etrailer part # CT-2001-Z that does fit that channel size and would work great. It has a trigger latch design that is very common and works great.

  • Looking For a Trailer Coupler for My 6 Foot long Trailer Tongue with 2" Channel with 1 7/8" Ball?
Hello Jeffery, I have 2 different options for you. The coupler does not need to be as long as the tongue. For your 2" channel with a 1 7/8" ball, you will want either the Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler - Trigger Latch - Zinc - 1-7/8" Ball - Bolt On - 2,000 lbs # CT-2001-Z, or the one you were looking at the Fulton Fas-Lok Coupler, 1-7/8" Ball, 2" Channel - 2,000 lbs # E112000340. I attached a picture showing the # CT-2001-Z installed on a very long trailer tongue. What kind of trailer...

  • Difference Between Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler CT-2001-Z and CT-2002-Z
Hi David; the # CT-2001-Z and # CT-2002-Z are similar but not the same. The one difference is the channel width. The # CT-2001-Z has a 2" channel width and the # CT-2002-Z has a 2-1/2" channel width.

  • Trailer Coupler Recommended for Trailer With 2-5/8 Inch Round Tube Tongue
I don't have an option that would bolt or weld right up to your 2-3/8 inch diameter pipe, but if you're handy we have an option or two that could work for you with a little welding and fabrication work. We do have a round tube tongue coupler that could work, but it's for a 2 inch trailer ball so you'd need to replace your existing 1-7/8 inch ball with a 2 inch. I'd recommend using the # BD028383 which is designed for a 3-1/2 inch pipe, so you'd need to shim the 2-3/8 inch pipe you have...

  • Repair Kit for Shelby Coupler Availability
There is not a repair kit we carry for Shelby couplers so you will need a new one. Our couplers are designed to fit channel tongues that are a minimum of 2" wide so you would need to use a pair of steel shims for Coupler # CT-2001-Z, which works with a 1-7/8" hitch ball and has a 2000 lb capacity. I've added a link to a video review of this coupler for you to check out.

  • Can a Trailer Coupler on a Vintage Trailer be Repaired without Knowing the Coupler Manufacturer
I would need to know the model and/or manufacturer of the coupler. The issue is that the repair kits are not universal so I cannot guarantee that what we have will fit. The one thing that will work is to replace the coupler. Since you mentioned that the trailer is an A-frame but the channel is 2 inches wide I assume that the coupler is mounted to a single pole at the front of the A-frame. For a straight tongue coupler that fits a 2 inch tongue and couples to a 1-7/8 inch ball we have #...

  • Mounting Hole Dimensions & Spacing on Bolt-On Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler CT-2001-Z
I went to our warehouse and measured the Bolt-On Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler # CT-2001-Z for the dimensions you asked about. Each mounting hole has a 3/8-inch diameter and their center-to-center spacing is exactly 2-1/4-inches.

  • What is Smallest Standard Size Hitch Ball Available for Trailer Coupler
The 1-1/4 inch ball that comes with the friction sway control units like part # 83660 are only designed to be used with the friction sway control setups and not with a coupler. That smallest standard size ball for towing with is 1-7/8 inch like part # 19256 which we do have couplers for like with the # CT-2001-Z.

  • Tee Nee Boat Trailer Coupler Installation with Bolt Holes Misaligned
It sounds as if the holes in the trailer frame are not drilled straight through the tongue, or that the coupler spread a little bit after it was stamped at the factory. The coupler should conform to the shape of the frame when installed. The first thing I would try is use a C-clamp around the coupler, and squeeze the coupler to the frame. This way you can check to see if the bolts will align and slide all the way through the coupler and frame. If you cannot get the bolts to align in...

  • Is It Possible To Replace Shelby 5128 Coupler with 2 Ball Coupler?
Yes, but all of the the couplers for 2" wide channels and 2" hitch balls use a different bolt spacing than the 2-1/4" spacing your Shelby 5128 coupler uses. However you can still use a 2" ball coupler like # DL13835 which has a 3" bolt spacing, but you'll just need to drill holes as needed. If drilling holes is a no-no for you, then you'll need to stick with your existing coupler, or replace it with another 1-7/8" coupler like # CT-2001-Z which uses the same 2-1/4" spacing as your current...

  • Replacement 1-7/8" Trailer Ball Coupler For a 2004 Shelby 5128 Coupler
The Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler # CT-2001-Z is a 1-7/8" ball coupler that fits a 2" channel like your Shelby 5128 coupler. This coupler has 3/8" mounting holes that are spaced 2-1/4" on center. The mounting bolts can be sourced locally.

  • Replacement Towbar, Coupler, and Caster Wheel Availability for an LCI-851T Trailer
I found a parts list online but it looks like the only thing we carry that would fit your LCI-851T trailer is a replacement coupler. We have 1-7/8" hitch ball couplers that fit a 2" channel # CT-2001-Z, 2-1/2" channel # CT-2002-Z, and a 3" channel # CT-2003-Z depending on the size of the towbar. We don't have any towbar (I-beams) or caster wheels for your trailer though so if this is an older trailer you may consider investing in a new trailer that you can easily find replacement parts for.

  • Recommended Hardware to Install the Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler # CT-2001-Z
There isn't a specific hardware recommendation for the Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler # CT-2001-Z, but your best option would be to go the highest grade possible. The bolt mounting holes have a 3/8" diameter to give you an idea of what size bolts you need.

  • Replacement Coupler Options for a 1963 Boat Trailer With 1-7/8" Fulton Coupler
The only Fulton coupler repair kits we carry are the # F670801 and # F640801 which are for much heavier duty couplers. Due to the age of your trailer you will most likely have to replace your coupler unless you can find the parts from a used coupler. I do see we have a few options depending on the width of the pole tongue on your trailer. We have a 2" # CT-2001-Z, 2-1/2" # CT-2002-Z or 3" # CT-2003-Z option. All of these are capable of bolting on to the tongue, have a 1-7/8" ball fitment...

  • Replacement Coupler Recommendation for Wood Splitter with 2 inch Wide Channel
You'd have to have a new coupler welded on most likely since the bolt pattern of your current coupler isn't standard. The part # CT-2001-Z is designed for a 2 inch wide channel and can be welded on. It's designed for a 1-7/8 inch ball as well.

  • Do Pole Tongue Couplers that Fit Different Ball Sizes Have Different Bolt Patterns
Hey Tucker, so the couplers that fit 2 inch trailer tongues like the # CT-3001-Z do generally have a wider bolt pattern than the ones that fit the smaller ball size but to avoid redrilling new holes you could weld on the coupler to the trailer.

  • Is There a 2" Coupler For 2" Channel Which Matches The Bolt Holes For 1-7/8" Coupler?
I believe the reason you are having a hard time finding a 2" Coupler # CT-3001-Z with the same mounting hole spread as the 1-7/8" Coupler # CT-2001-Z has to do with the amount of weight the couplers are rated for. The 2" is going to require a larger bolt hole spread to distribute the weight more across the trailers pole tongue. So while the 1-7/8" coupler has the bolt holes spread 2-1/4" on center the 2" coupler moves them out to 3-1/6" on center.

  • Bolt Hole to Bolt Hole Measurements for 2,000 lb Coupler for 2 Channel and 1-7/8 Hitch Ball
I took a look at each of the 2,000 lb trailer couplers that fit a 2" channel and connect to a 1-7/8" hitch ball, and none of them have bolt hole to bolt hole measurements of 1-1/4". The Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler # CT-2001-Z has a 2-1/4" on center measurements. The 1-1/4" bolt hole to bolt hole measurement you have is going to be too small for any of the current trailer couplers so what I strongly recommend is that you drill new holes which will allow you to use the coupler of your...

  • Will Mounting Holes for 1-7/8 Inch Hitch Ball Coupler Match With 2 Inch Hitch Ball Coupler
Your standard coupler for a 1-7/8" hitch ball, like the etrailer # CT-2001-Z, has bolt holes measuring 2-1/4" apart on center while your standard coupler for a 2" hitch ball, like the etrailer # CT-3001-Z, has bolt holes measuring 3" apart on center for your standard coupler. There isn't any issue with using a 2" coupler for your application (you just have to drill new holes) so I say go ahead and upgrade it to the more standard hitch ball size. We do have some couplers that have some...

  • Is The Mounting Bolt Pattern On The CT-3001-Z The Same As The CT-2001-Z?
The Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler - 1-7/8" Ball # CT-2001-Z has bolt spacing measuring at 2-1/4 inches, but the Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler - 2" Ball # CT-3001-Z is larger at 3-1/16 inches, so it will not be a direct bolt on replacement, unfortunately. With that being said, drilling another mounting hole in the tongue of your trailer will be less expensive than the alternative. Which would be buying a ball mount with a 1-7/8" ball so you can use it with the # CT-2001-Z. I will say...

  • Option For 1-7/8 Inch Coupler For 2 Inch Channel For Swivel Safe Hitch
We may have an option for a coupler that works, but we don't offer the Swivel Safe brand, so we don't have any fits we can confirm. So the best I can offer are dimensions of our couplers that fit a 2" channel and attach to a 1-7/8" hitch ball. • How to Use Trailer Coupler On Smaller Trailer Channel
There isn't a trailer coupler for a channel any smaller than 2 inches. You could still use a standard coupler for a 2 inch channel, but what you would have to do is fabricate and weld on spacers to the tongue in order to mount it. If you did that you would be able to use a standard channel coupler like the Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler - 1-7/8" Ball # CT-2001-Z or the Curt QuickPin No-Latch Trailer Coupler for 2" Ball # C82CR. • Options For Straight Tongue Channel Coupler For 1-7/8" Hitch Ball
Hello Burris, We have straight tongue channel couplers for a 1-7/8" hitch ball, though none with bolt holes that are 5" apart. Each of the couplers has holes 2-1/4" apart, so you can still use them if you're drill new holes. I know it's not what you asked for but I at least wanted to give you the option, and if you're okay with that, the right one will depend on the width of your trailer tongue. - 2" Tongue: Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler # CT-2001-Z - 2-1/2" Tongue: Channel Tongue Trailer...
