Question:
I’m replacing a broken trailer coupler for an 1 7/8” ball. I was hoping to replace it with a 2” ball coupler, but I can’t seem to find anyone who makes a 2” coupler with 1 7/8” bolt hole pattern. Is there such a beast? I have 3 boat trailers and it would be nice to have them all with the same coupler.

Hey Tucker, so the couplers that fit 2 inch trailer tongues like the # CT-3001-Z do generally have a wider bolt pattern than the ones that fit the smaller ball size but to avoid redrilling new holes you could weld on the coupler to the trailer.

Hey Tucker, how did things go with the 2-inch coupler and the wider bolt pattern you were looking into? Did welding the coupler end up being a good solution for your boat trailers? Your update could make it easier for others trying to match their setups.
