Hello Jeffery,
I have 2 different options for you. The coupler does not need to be as long as the tongue. For your 2" channel with a 1 7/8" ball, you will want either the Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler - Trigger Latch - Zinc - 1-7/8" Ball - Bolt On - 2,000 lbs # CT-2001-Z, or the one you were looking at the Fulton Fas-Lok Coupler, 1-7/8" Ball, 2" Channel - 2,000 lbs # E112000340. I attached a picture showing the # CT-2001-Z installed on a very long trailer tongue.
What kind of trailer is this going on?
