This coupler features a simple-to-use latching mechanism known as the eZ-Latch. With this mechanism, hooking up is as easy as dropping the coupler over your trailer hitch ball. The latch does not need to be tugged or manually activated to allow the ball into the coupler socket, nor does it have to be secured in place. Just make sure that the coupler is properly lined up with the ball when you lower it, and the rest is automatic. Disengaging the coupler is just as effortless. Simply lift up the contoured handle and the coupler socket will automatically release its grip on the ball.

Nice coupler. However is advertised as using 5/8" hardware and the holes are actually 1/2".

The best review one could write would be that they would buy this product again from the same supplier:. I have made purchases from ETRAILER before and if I ever needed another coupler this is the one I would buy. Extremely easy to mount and operate.
Good product but takes to long to get it in to the shipping process. Your turn around time is very slow.

I love the new type of trailer coupler so I bought this one to convert our 2" ball trailer to match our other trailers. The Bolt holes lined up and everything. Very happy with the conversion!

I ordered this hitch because all my farm work trailers have a 2-5/16" hitch and my boat had a 2". So I found this hitch on etrailer.com and removed the 2" hitch for this one and now all are the same, saving me a lot of trouble and time. When you are 60 years old and have back problems, changing the hitch when you want to go boating is the last thing you want to do.
Coupler will not unlock with any pressure on Trailer.
I am very happy with this product. It went on the boat trailer. It was easy to install. The quality was above others we looked at for more money. We will recommend you to others.

I have several trailers of various sizes. I pull a trailer for work nearly every day, so I've experienced poor quality hitches and great quality hitches. It fit perfectly and is definitely made of high-quality craftsmanship and materials. It functions as advertised.
Have 2 now one boat trailer and now one on trailer I build this winter so all 3 of my trailer are 2-5/16in now. No more forgetting to change balls all the same, I like the couplers very much.
I was converting all of my trailers to 2 5/16" ball, so I didn't have to have different size ball inserts laying around and not being able to find the size I needed. I also like the feature that locks on the ball without unlatching the lever.
This is a very sturdy built trailer coupler. The quick attach makes hooking up a breeze. I purchased it mainly to have all of my trailers running the same size ball hitch. I would recommend this trailer coupler to anyone.
I like the locking mechanism
Used the 2 5/16" coupler to replace a 2 inch one on our trailer that a debris vacuum is mounted on. It works fine, with no issues. It allows us to tow the debris vac behind our trucks that have a ball/pintle hitch combination. Glad etrailer had the size, as could not find it locally. Thanks.

After a year of use. This hitch has never been an issue for all the reasons why we replaced the original unit. It has operated flawlessly, produced time saving hook up and most of all the one of the safest trailer couplers we have ever used. Sorry to hear that, Hugh. I will say though, a coupler that can just be removed with pressure still on the ball isn't going to be a very good coupler. You do still want to get as close to all the pressure off the coupler before releasing it. Have you tried adjusting it at all? It could just be really really tight.
