I have a couple of options that would work for you. If the trailer is sitting around not coupled to anything, and you're wanting to prevent an unauthorized person from coupling it and driving off, use # e98894. If you're wanting to prevent the trailer from being uncoupled from a hitch, use # e98888. This lock will also prevent the trailer from being coupled, but I find the # e98894 to be more secure.
The # e98888 would be inserted through the transverse hole just below the latch, as shown in the photo.
I've seen folks use both these locks together, by hitting the drop down arrow on the product description page you can get both locks keyed alike if you wish.
