Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Blue Ox three-foot long Safety Cables. Safety cables offer extra security for your tow system. They are required in most states, and they offer extra assurance that your towed vehicle won't become a runaway vehicle if a breakaway occurs. They're constructed of a aircraft grade steel. They're very strong, very durable. They actually feature a capacity of 10,000 pounds, and they got a really nice coating that goes over the cable.

That way it, won't scratch your tow-bar system. The unit's gonna come with four quick links, these are included, they're gonna prevent accidental unhooking. They make for easy attachment and detachment as well. Product's made right here in the USA. You're gonna get two cables, each one measures 36-inches long or three-feet long.

This is very well made and the coating covering the cable is very tough. The connectors are much bigger than you may realize but are also very well made and work smoothly. I dont think you will be dissapointed.

Yup, they are steel cables and at one year they have not rusted in half. Well, ok, they have not rusted at all even at the point where I let one rub on the frame and it chewed an away some of the coating. Good cables which will last as long as I need. I actually moved them from the wrangler i originally installed them on to our new maverick to tow that.

Cables are what I expected which are the same as what came with my base plate for our 2014 Ford Focus. Had to order these because no cables came with my base plate for our 2000 Cavalier Z24 Convertible when I purchase that base plate several years ago. Seems that then cables did not come standard with base plate. I give this a low rating because not allowed to discuss what is listed as not APPROPRIATE for the review.

Recommended Safety Chains For A 7,000 Pound Tandem Axle Trailer
The rating listed for a single chain, like the Curt # C80031 at 5,000 pounds of capacity, will double when two are used. So the # C80031 used as a pair will mean you would have 10,000 pounds of capacity. You may need to get some short cables to wrap around each frame rail then hold them together with quick links and attach the safety cables from the RV to the quick links.
