Where Do 3' Baseplate Safety Cables/Quick Links Get Installed
Updated 06/03/2023 | Published 06/02/2023 >
Question:
You sent me 3foot coated cables and Quicklinks to attach them But Where do you attach them to? I have the coiled safety hooks from Base plates to RV tow bar hitch but I cant figure where to put these cables and there are no videos to show where and how they hook up! Jim Agee

Cables like the Blue Ox 3' Permanent Base Plate Safety Cables # BX88208 can be used in two ways. If they came with a Blue Ox baseplate then you're supposed to wrap them around the frame and connect them to the baseplate as an added safety precaution in the event that the baseplate became detached from the frame of the vehicle. There would be a section in the installation instructions for the baseplate that goes over how to install them in this way.
The other possibility is that with some baseplates there's not always a hook to connect the safety cables that run from the motorhome to the towed vehicle so you have to make your own connection point on the vehicle by wrapping these around the frame and running them out for the safety cables to connect to.
