Features to know about

Keep the Rear End Level and Stable: 6,000-lb Suspension Support

When you’re towing or hauling and the back of your vehicle starts to sag, these Aeon hollow rubber springs give you up to 6,000 lbs of extra support over the rear axle. They replace the factory bump stops and sit 1" above the axle, letting your factory suspension work normally when unloaded. As weight increases, the springs get more rigid to keep your ride level, improve steering and braking feel, and prevent bottoming out on rough roads.

Smooth Out the Ride and Cut Down on Shock: Rubber Springs That Absorb Impact

Rough roads, potholes, and dips can shake both truck and trailer. These hollow rubber springs act like shock absorbers, taking the brunt of bumps and vibration before they reach your cab. That means a smoother ride when you’re loaded and less wear on your stock suspension. The natural elasticity of the rubber provides more travel than microcellular urethane setups, giving a softer ride while still handling heavy loads.

Stay Steady in Crosswinds and Turns: Independent Spring Action

Each side of the rear suspension works on its own, so when you take corners or haul off-center loads, one spring can compress without affecting the other. That helps reduce body roll during turns and keeps both tires planted for better control. The steadier ride also helps stop trailer sway sooner since less movement transfers from vehicle to trailer.

Get It Installed Without Complication: Bolt-On Design with No Air Lines or Adjustments

There’s no need to run airlines or manage air pressure—installation is simple. The custom-fit brackets bolt directly to the frame above the axle with no drilling required. All necessary brackets and hardware are included, so once these are bolted into place you’re ready to tow or haul without any ongoing adjustments or maintenance.

I put these on a 2004 Suburban K1500 because I use it to pull a JD 990 on a 16' trailer. I also use it to pull a 23' boat.

The originals were still on the truck and had definitely exceeded their life expectancy and the rear end was obviously sagging.

I replaced the P series tires with LT E rated at the same time and there is a substantial improvement in the stance and handling when a trailer is attached.

I recommend these to anyone towing anything with a tongue weight of >500 lbs. Be sure you don't exceed your hitches rating!

A tip for the install: put liquid soap (I used laundry detergent) around the collar and it will slide right in when you lower it down on the 2x4.

by:

the product was exactly as advertized and installed easily when i used hand soap for lubricant i haven't hooked to my trailer yet but the difference between the stock parts and these is amazing

Great I would would recommend it to anyone

Love the support when I load my car trailer up. Ride with the empty trailer is good also. I have not tried it with the truck without trailer hooked to it. But I am 100% happy with the way it’s supports the rear.

Little bit of a ruff ride without my trailer hooked to it but not to bad. Would still recommend to anyone. Supports the trailer 10x better than without.

by:

2003 Chevy Avalanche 1500. I put these on a year ago to replace the original ones that were trashed and to upgrade to pull a camp trailer. They are very easy to install and worked well for me, my truck used to squat in the back just pulling a small utility trailer. Now when I hook up to the camper without a weight distribution hitch - No squat and rides nice to

by:

I replaced the stock bump stops on my 04 Chevy Suburban with the oversized Timbren's. My main objective was to reduce tail wag and rear end sag when towing my 27' camper. I would highly recommend them if you tow on a regular basis. I also drive in the mountains frequently and it has eliminated the tires rubbing the fender wells (body roll) when the road changes camber quickly. The downside is they are somewhat stiff when not under a load which doesn't seem to allow for the full movement of the shock absorber when riding empty. Overall I really like the product when towing and would highly recommend for that application but wish is was not as stiff when not towing.

by:

The rear suspension enhancement has made a big difference in towing - I have a 2020 Suburban with the tow package. I have a 5400 pd travel trailer(dry weight) which I assume is around 6400 pds loaded. I noticed a major difference in stability after adding these especially over rough pavement and bridges. The Timbrens have mitigated the rear axle slamming against the frame. I use an Equalizer hitch with the system and added loaded rated tires. The package works great. It’s a big improvement towing.

by:

They weren’t too bad to install. On my vehicle, 2001 suburban, they just slide into place, no bolting required. Seating them was a pain, but I got them in. The only thing I noticed is that I do not have clearance between the rubber stops and the axle pad once I put the suburban back on the ground. I haven’t towed yet, but I have notice that the ride is a little stiffer and the handling is much better..no roll. Service and delivery was great. I’ll buy from this company again.

They have been great. Since there is no gap between the bumpers and the axle pad, our ride is a bit stiff. They really helped the handling while towing.

by:

Vast improvement when driving on rough roads. My SUV use to bottom out and feel loose. With these it doesn't feel nearly bad and the back end doesn't drop low when loaded.

by:

The Timbren rear bump stops for 2020 Suburban were great quality and fit perfectly in the replacement of the original ones with no problems. The old ones pulled right out by hand with no hassle. When I installed the new ones I put 2x4 blocks that I cut underneath the bump stops. Then hooked up the 6,400 lbs travel trailer with about 750 lbs of tongue weight on it and they pressed right into place. The Suburban was more stable because it had less swaying while towing. I also gained about 1 inche more in the fender gap which means less rearend saging.

by:

I installed these on my 2002 Chevy Tahoe just over a year ago and they are still fantastic. If your truck is banging or feels like a boat going down the road, I highly recommend installing the Timbren system. I did it myself in under an hour and what a difference.
Thank you etrailer!!!.

Still 5 Stars!!! I run a mobile locksmith business and carry over a 1000 lbs in tools and product and the Timbrens are still working great. My Tahoe rides as smooth as ever!!!

by:

This was very easy instal on my 2004 Chevy avalanch. This truck is used for hunting with a rack in the back. We haul 100’s of pounds off road and suspension has held up great. It has been installed for about a year now.

I have a 2004 Chevrolet Suburban that I intend to use as a replacement for my '99 Chevrolet heavy half ton Suburban. I will use it for my work vehicle as an electrical contractor. The new bump stops are a great solution for me to use my '04 half ton Suburban as a one ton Suburban. They were not as easy to install as the video, but they were not too difficult either.

The Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System has worked out wonderfully for my 2004 Suburban. I use the vehicle as a work vehicle. I am an electrical contractor and haul about one ton of tools and supplies in it every day. It handles as if there is nothing in it.

by:

Product went in fairly easy. Taking the spare out provides a lot of room to work in. A medium size flathead screwdriver worked perfect to get the old ones out. I put one in from the bottom underneath and the other from the outside over the tire. Liked that the best. I was able to hold the product with one hand and slowly lower the floor jack with the other.
Haven't given it a good test yet. So far would rate the product as excellent. Would rate etrailer as excellent.

I have these on a 2000’s Tahoe. It rode like a caddy because it has been so well cared for….. When I put in the Timbrens, it stiffened up quite a bit and is kind of bouncy. When I hook up to my camp trailer, they really do work well. Just know you are making a trade in the ride quality when you are not towing.

I contacted the company directly and they were quick to send me out some slightly shorter cushions. This has returned my ride back to what it was. I am very grateful for them up in Canada for being so quick to help me. Great company to deal with. Concerning installation. It should be recommended that they are unbolted from the piece that gets pushed into the cup. A light amount of silicone lubricant aplied in rim and hammered with a rubber mallet would be more appropriate. And then bolting it back on rather than trying to put blocks and squish the rubber down hard enough to get that to push into the cup.

by:

Easy to install. Will test with trailer attached next week

I own a 2006 GMC Yukon. We purchased a brand new 2017 32' Keystone Hideout Travel Trailer. The travel trailer remained well within our tow capacity when fully loaded. We also purchased and installed a weight distribution system. With all of these steps in place, the rear of our vehicle would sag. I purchased the Timbren SES Rear Suspension Enhancement System (Model TGMRG25C) from etrailer. The order arrived quickly within a few days. I was able to install myself in about 30 minutes. We just took the travel trailer out this past weekend. From the moment we hitched the trailer on, the difference was remarkable. No rear end sag at all. I would highly recommend this product.

by:

Size difference shocked me. Towing my wakeboard boat is much easier with less drag on my 02 gmc Denali xl. I have mine lifted 3" and didn't need the spacers even though I bought them. I would recommend this product to anyone who tows and has vehicle drag. My picture says it all.

by:

2003 Suburban z71 4wd rear install. Removal of old bump stop was simple. Passenger Timbren install fairly easy but took some time to get seated fully. Driver side, different story. The harsh angle of the bump stop cup required numerous tries to seat it straight. Install took about 3 hrs in total. In hind sight I should have just pulled the tires. Do they work to reduce sag....100%

by:

The difference between the factory bump stop and the Timbren system is phenomenal in both size and composition. The install went as planned per the instructions. Definitely a better ride now when loaded, including a Cargo Carrier on back with a loaded Kong Kooler. Definitely worth the time and effort to upgrade my Suburban!

by:

2017 suburban. Easy to install but I used the handle of my floor jack to pry the new rubber into the cup as I wasn’t able to get it to stay by hand. Once started, I lowered onto wood blocks and it popped right in. The pictures show the original stop, installing the the new ones with wood, installed with 1” gap sitting with no external load, and loaded with the weight of my 33’ camper. They definitely help with sagging and a little with stability. It’s still more squirrelly than I like, but that may just be the towing properties of the suburban up against its max gross weight. Definitely recommend if you tow any weight with a suburban.

by:

Installation was somewhat simple, had to raise the truck and lower quite a few times for it to settle in fully even with the 2x4 and lubrication. I hooked up my loaded trailer and it didnt squat as low as it did. My original bump stops were completely rotted away so I cant wait to try it on the road with these new ones

by:

I bought these for my 2001 Chevy Suburban with a 5.3 V8 and four-wheel drive. These Springs have been absolutely amazing, on more than on one occasion I've loaded up three to four thousand pounds in the bed of my truck and the vehicle only sagged 2 in from the unloading height.

The Springs are better than I thought they would be and will absolutely be an addition to every work vehicle from now on.
I highly recommend them.

by:

Installation was not as easy as advertised. I ended up attaching my trailer without the distribution bars and used the trailer jack to lift and lower the trailer several time to get the timbrens to seat properly. Other than the installation being a bit challenging, the product is fantastic. Towing is a lot easier with these with my Yukon XL. My vehicle has air ride suspension, and these timbrens reduced the need for the air pump to frequently run. My 7000 lb trailer was so much easier to pull and eliminated almost all of the sway and bounce when going over bumps and being passed by large trucks. Also, after the initial trip, it seems my gas mileage improved by at least 10% because the vehicle was more level.

@Honestpete I am glad to hear these are working well for you and changed your ride quality! The Timbren products are some of my favorites. Super cool to hear about the gas milage difference! I have not heard that feedback on these specifically so that is great to hear. What kind of trailer are you pulling?

by:

I would give 5 stars if it was as easy to install on my Suburban as advertised. We had to use blocks of wood and our camper to get these seated properly. Now that they are installed I have to say they definitely take the squat out when we are loaded and are easy to deal with then the airbags they replaced.

  • Highest Rated Suspension Enhancement Option For A 2003 Chevy Tahoe
Hi Bob! The Timbren # TGMRG25C you ordered will have 6,000 pounds of load assist and will be the highest rated option available for your 2003 Tahoe. This will definitely solve your sagging issue, especially if you are close to or at the maximum load capacity of your vehicle. It must be pointed out, when you are unloaded your ride will be noticeably stiffer than your stock suspension due to their heavy duty nature. Personally, I prefer the Air Lift LoadLifter # AL60769 due to the adjustability....
