When heavy gear or a loaded trailer weighs down the back end, factory leaf springs can flatten out and let the vehicle sag. The RoadActive Suspension kit converts those passive springs into a mechanically active system with 2,000-lb capacity. It automatically adjusts to the load to keep your ride level and stable so steering, braking, and traction all stay predictable when towing or hauling.
Instead of waiting for bounce or sway to happen, the RAS system reacts immediately. Its variable-rated coil tension springs strengthen the leaf pack as soon as weight is added, stopping squat before it starts. That same tension soaks up axle wrap and wheel hop, keeping the tires planted and eliminating the harsh up-and-down motion that usually comes with heavy payloads or big trailers.
Most helper setups trade comfort for support, but these coil tension springs adjust on their own. Under load they engage to add strength and control; when unloaded they disengage so the leaf springs move freely without stiffening the ride. The result is better balance, smoother handling, and comfort whether you’re packed full or running light.
The kit bolts right onto the top of the leaf spring and under the U-bolt plate with no drilling, cutting, or welding. It comes fully assembled with all hardware included. Once installed there’s no monitoring or air pressure to manage—the setup stays dialed in with no maintenance required. The epoxy e-coated steel springs and corrosion-resistant brackets hold up through weather and road grime with a salt spray rating of more than 800 hours.
By reinforcing factory leaf springs instead of replacing them, this system reduces stress on shocks, shackles, and tires. That means fewer bottom-outs, less wear on suspension parts, and improved handling for every mile—loaded or not.

Well It has not failed me yet. Being basically a spring under load all the time I am assuming the spring will stretch some over time and I will have to adjust tension accordingly. The pickup sits nicely on the thinner washer setting so I am leaving it there and hopefully that will help the system last longer.

What can I say. After a year of constantly driving through Texas roads and highways. I have moved twice and loaded the bed of my truck plus U-Haul 6x12 trailer and thy truck has not felt the load of it. The Active Road Suspension Leaf Spring is constantly sort of speak sensing if theres load so it can actively push it upwards. I have even driven up to the crazy roads of Pennsylvania and my pick drives smoother than when I got it from the dealer. Im telling you these things work. As any cautious driver upkeeping his own vehicle, I have periodically checked the bolts and location of the resistance in between the spring and it has not deflected or moved from its original installation. I believe every pick up must have these. It beats constantly putting air on the air bags especially in inclement weather like up here in Pennsylvania with the snow. I couldnt be more satisfied with this purchase. Thank you etrailer for offering this superb product.

After a year I am still pleased with this product. I had been adjusting the spring tension higher when towing and then back down after a trailering trip, but now just leave it adjusted to the trailer towing tension as the unloaded ride doesnt seem to suffer when the springs are tighter.

Still working great. Towed a Flaggstaff microlite 23LB Travel trailer prob between 5 and 5500 LB’s to Niagra Falls with no problems, truck sat level with trailer and 2 adults,2kids. Getting ready to make a 2,000 mile round trip to disney in florida in a few weeks.

OMG!! I have done extensive traveling with my trailer over the last year and the RAS system has made a huge difference in sway, road buffeting and squat. I can’t imagine not having this on any vehicle that tows!

Removed the Suspension Enhancement and installed Airlift. Cost more but rear-end isnt sagging 4.
