Features to know about

Keep Your Truck Level and Confident Under Load: 8,600-lb Rear Suspension Support

Heavy trailers and bed loads can cause the rear of your truck to squat and the front end to lift. The Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System adds 8,600-lb capacity hollow rubber springs above the rear axle to keep your truck level when towing or hauling. By working with your existing suspension, these springs help maintain proper ride height so steering, traction, and braking stay in balance even with serious tongue weight or cargo.

Smooth Out the Ride on Rough Roads: Progressive Rubber Springs

Each Aeon hollow rubber spring compresses progressively as weight increases. Under light loads you get normal ride comfort, and under heavy loads the rubber stiffens to absorb bumps and rough terrain. The springs act as shock absorbers, taking the brunt of potholes and washboard roads while reducing stress on your factory suspension. That means fewer bottom-outs and a smoother, more controlled ride when roads get rough.

Reduce Body Roll and Trailer Sway: Independent Spring Action

When you swerve or make a sharp turn, each Timbren spring works on its own to support that side of the vehicle. This independent action limits body roll and keeps your truck steady through corners or crosswinds. By improving stability at the axle, the system also cuts down on trailer sway so the trailer tracks straighter and recovers faster if it starts to move around behind you.

Set It and Forget It: Simple Bolt-On Installation, No Air Lines

Unlike air bag systems that need hoses, compressors, or regular adjustments, this setup is completely mechanical. The custom brackets bolt right onto the frame above the axle using existing points—no drilling required. Once installed, the springs automatically engage when weight is added, so there’s nothing to monitor or maintain before each trip. It’s an easy way to add dependable load support without extra plumbing or setup time.

Very pleased w’ purchase. Very pleased w’ performance.
Installed on a 2019 Ram 1500 4wd. I tow a 4300lb camper. The e difference is like night & day. We now ride level & without the springing action. Was a toss up between these and air bag inserts. These have a lifetime warranty, bags are 2 years. These never have to be adjusted, unlike bags. Super easy to install, just watch the video.
Highly recommended.

Replaced these old ones to haul my travel trailer…. Took literally 2 minutes to do.

2018 Ram 1500
I was a bit skeptical at first. It seemed to me that if it was so simple to improve the stability and ride quality of a tow vehicle, OEMs would have been doing this for decades.

Well, I put them on my ram 1500 taking a chance with the money back guarantee and after a 10 hour one way trip and return journey with a single axle, 21 foot camper I am a believer. We had about 600lb on the hitch and the truck sat dead level. At this point, the frame was fully on the stops and surprisingly the ride wasn't too harsh. I could feel the stops working to keep my squishy ram suspension from bouncing too much on bridges and other bumps. I'm sure it's easier on the truck to have a decently high range progressive spring vs slamming into the factory bump stops on such bumps too. Shocks could accomplish this to a degree but not without some compromises in unladen ride quality.

I'm still not sure I believe the claim that it reduces sway. Body roll, sure. Unladen, the truck rides like stock except when you hit bigger bumps at high speed, which obviously you try not to do anyway. If I got a new half ton tomorrow, my next purchase would be a set of timbrens.

I installed these along side the airlift 1000HD and a 2inch lift there just the back up support my wife needed on her truck she tows a gooseneck 2 horse with large tack room i will be adding the 1 inch spacer soon in the photos there rire a 3inch of free travel there also 30psi in the air bage lifting the truck a about a inch unloaded

Bought these from etrailer about a year ago and they do not disappoint. They the best things I have bought to help with towing. No more significant sinking while under load, feels great towing, and hardly noticeable with no load.
by:
They arrived quickly and they were very easy to install. My truck does not sag near as much when pulling our travel trailer.
I never hesitate to order from etrailer. Great company.

These almost immediately made a difference and that’s without even towing anything. Seemed to have eliminated some of the extra lean in the back.

Ok... Im using the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System in my 2014 Ram 1500 Limited. I had them installed this week, along with Air Deletes replacement system, for the stock Ram air ride suspension system. Unfortunately the 1st set of Timbrens sent from E-Trailer were not what my vehicle called for and didnt function as intended. Joy,from E-Trailer however, was on the issue immediately, and the right bump stocks were sent out. A very nice, and accommodating follow up call with Dena, confirmed all is well with my return, and Im a happy Camper. The Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System, slash replacement Bump Stocks, definitely work as intended. I had a 1 and 1-1/4" drop, when loaded with 900 pds of tounge weight.

The bump suspension enhancement system for my 2021 RAM was a good fit. They were a little tight to get in and stay before I dropped them down on a 2x4 but popped in fine. To be certain they were seated I ran down a bumpy road with the 2x4s there. When I came back they were in tight. I pulled out the 2x4s and tried it again. The ride is still smooth as ever. I'm looking forward to how it handles my travel trailer.
by:
Timbrens worked perfectly for my 2019 Ram! Was not sure until I hooked my travel trailer up and headed down the road and what a great ride from there! Some reviews about the truck ride when not pulling a trailer. I had no issues, my truck rode perfectly!!
by:
2019 Ram 1500
Fast and Easy to install a small 5” piece of a 2x4 I read in a previous review helped the install . It definite double the size of the OEM and leaves about a 2” gap between the bump stop and the axle. I have not hauled my camper yet to see how much it improves for towing. Hopefully will see as soon as the weather breaks in my area.

Worked out really well. towed my Camper for the first time since last year, about a week or two ago, and the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System improved my truck, keeping it more level when towing. I am happy with the upgrade just be aware that, as someone else had stated, the ride was rougher than without, but the truck was more level and stable when towing.

2013 Dodge Ram Pickup
These "enhanced" bump-stops have definitely improved the ride quality of my 2013 Ram 1500 quad cab when pulling our 7500 lb. 29 foot travel trailer. The trailer probably has 500+ pounds of food, clothes, kids toys, etc inside as well. The truck bed probably has another 800'ish pounds of equipment in it that compresses the suspension before I even hook the trailer up. With the stock stops the rear suspension hardly moved. After adding the new stops, the rear suspension had travel again and the steering felt less twitchy.

Unloaded truck will hit the new stops only if I hit a pretty harsh bump but it's only noticeable if you're paying attention to it. With a loaded bed (no trailer) hitting the stops is more noticeable but you still need to hit a decent bump for them to touch.

They are very easy to install. Take the time to read the instructions and watch the installation video before you pay someone $50-$75 for a 15-20 minute job.

I would buy them again.

I have attached the Timbren product to my 2012 Dodge Ram and am very impressed with the product. etrailer answered my question that I needed to know if the Timbren product would take the squat out of my truck when I hook up my 5th wheel rv. The proof is in the attached pictures I took to share with you and potential customers. Your customer service & product knowledge is outstanding and that is why I am a faithful customer. As far as the installation of the product, I could not find an easier thing to do....It's harder to change a light bulb! Of course your installation video was very informative which made things a lot easier.

Fantastic....The truck drives like a dream! If and when I hit any potholes or bumps, of course you still feel them, but the control is there with no fish tailing. As far as pulling my 5th wheel, it feels like everything is one unit and floats right along!

Very good illustration and explanation. I have a 5th wheel and am experiencing the squat problem. Question: Is the installation strictly a friction fit or do I have to install a bolt with nut?

Tony O. profile picture

For John T. They are a friction fit, installed mine in less than 15 min. Slight harder ride when unloaded, but they work perfectly for carrying the load of the trailer. Highly recommend.

2026 Ram 1500
I put these on a 2026 RAM 1500 Rebel.
Very quick and easy install with no tools. I simply grabbed the factory bump stops out by hand, and used my camper electric jack to lower the suspension popping them into place. Without trailer or cargo the suspension feels normal.
by:
Dodge Ram Pickup
I put these on my 14' Ram 1500 that has Mopar 2.5'' lift system. It took me longer to crawl under the truck than it did to pull off stock bump stops and install the rubber shocks. A little bit of soapy water and they slid right on. No need to jack up truck or use of any tools. Pulled 16' bumper pull stock trailer loaded down the same day and was very pleased with the elimination of bounce from the rear. Rams have coils in the rear that make the truck drive like a dream empty, but bouncy as heck pulling a trailer. I recommend this product to anyone with a Ram. Boots sit about 1.5'' above axel so still get same smooth ride when empty and support when you put on a load.

After installing the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System, I could tell the difference when pulling our travel trailer. There was more control and hardly any bounce when on rough terrain. Major plus when traveling with a 6700 lb travel trailer.

I got these for my Ram 1500 to help out with towing my 5500 lb camper and I must say they worked out great compared to the stock bump stops, they bottom out quicker and support they weight alot better!
by:
While installing the system, determined that previous system (not timbren) was missing on one side and a weak foam remnant on the other side.
Installation was completed in 35 minutes. Tested immediately on 7 speed bumps. Suspension now is much firmer. Truck drives stably in cornering with increased speed. I look forward to hooking up my way twin engine boat and sees how much different the rig drives
Big shout-out to Ed who made sure I ordered the correct product and that I am satisfied with the purchase for Ram 1500.

So far so good!!Really helped with body roll and sway when big rigs would drive by.A little jolt here and there if road is rough but would say 90% of time you don't know its there or if you do it is doing what it's intended too.Definetly makes for more condifident pulling.I would recommend for the ram 1500.
by:
Easy instalation. Supports smoother towing with reduced porpoising.
by:
The fork lift operator couldn't reach far enough to center them over my axle, but it didn't matter, because I installed air lift air springs and the Timbren bump stop spring enhancements. I can't believe how well they performed together. It was only a short trip with this load, and I'd never haul this heavy of a payload in a 1500 unless it was a short trip, but it wouldn't have been an option without these enhancements. The fork lift driver was even impressed. He asked me what I was using. These products kick serious ass! AMAZING!

It works but makes ride a little rough. Air bags likely better but way more money

  • Best Way To Prevent Sag While Towing with a 2019 Ram 1500
Yes, the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System part # TDR1500DQ is a confirmed fit for the rear of your 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie Crew Cab. The Timbrens are very easy to install as there are no tools required and they will do an excellent job of helping your truck handle heavy loads or tow a trailer. The newer Ram 1500's use a coil spring rear suspension system which offers better ride quality but lacks support while towing/hauling which is most likely why you are looking for suspension...
