You load up for a weekend off the grid, knowing the weight will shift on rough trails. Instead of bracing for every dip, you drive with steady control and a smoother feel that lets you focus on the road ahead.
When you load up gear for a trip or haul tools for the job, the rear end can start to squat and throw off your handling. These springs compress as weight comes on, adding up to 1,500 lbs of support at 50% compression so your truck stays more level and controlled.
Rough trails and uneven pavement can make the back end feel harsh and bouncy. The closed-cell polyurethane design acts like a cushion, soaking up bumps and softening rebounds so the ride feels more settled instead of choppy.
You know that uneasy feeling when the rear starts to lean in a turn or shift in the wind. These springs firm up as they compress, helping reduce sway and body roll so the truck feels more planted when things get unpredictable.
Air systems can be a hassle with lines, leaks, and pressure checks. This setup is a one-piece solution with no maintenance needed. Once it is in, you can just drive and not think about it again.
Instead of stacking add-ons, this replaces your factory bump stops directly. It is a clean, straightforward upgrade that works quietly in the background without changing how you use your truck day to day.
Some setups only help when fully loaded, but these stay engaged lightly even when you are not hauling. That means less rear-end bounce on daily drives and more control whether the bed is empty or packed.

Hi, everyone. Steven here with Etrailer. Today we're taking a quick look together at some SumoSprings. These are gonna be a solo custom helper spring set for your rear axle. Now these fit a lot of different year, make and models of Rams, Jeeps, and Dodges. So please be sure you're checking the fit guide to be sure you're getting the right parts for your specific vehicle the first time.
Now, what's great about these is these are what's considered a progressive load support and all that means is that they compress with the weight itself for smoother control. So meaning they're going to reduce wear swag, they're gonna help that stance under load and they compress with the weight, meaning they're gonna compress down when you have that load on. So when you're empty, they're not gonna make it more rough or anything like that. And the neat thing about these in my opinion, is there's no maintenance. So there's no airlines to worry about, leaks to check, adjustments needed or anything like that.
It's literally a one piece setup. This replaces your factory bump stop. So your factory bump stop probably looks something similar to this. It's probably like this kind of material rubber or something. And it's probably a little, little thinner and a little bit shorter than these.
And this just replaces them giving it a lot more sturdiness. And then some installs, you may need to put this additional height on here. So just check the instructions and you may not need it. And then of course you got your hardware and it looks like some lubrication, or I'm sorry, thread lock here for the threads and everything. So again, these are also going to give you vibration dampening, so those harsh rebounds and road when you hit potholes.

The springs are working exactly as expect. I have need up to the mountains numerous times and to Monerary to the Sea Otter bike fest. They have reduced the body roll and helped keep the truck stable on the mountain roads or when loaded down for camping. Im very pleased I added these Sumo Springs to my Tacoma.

Glad to hear they are helping, Cory! If you are feeling them going over speed bumps, I think taking one of the spacers out is a good idea. Especially if that is happening when you are unloaded. Speaking of which, what are you towing?

Excellent, I also tow a 6x12 cargo trailer which the Sumos do a great job of maintaining a level ride. I also installed Sumos front and rear on my 32 Tiffin motorhome. It utilizes the Ford F53 chassis and I believe they compliment that chassis well. Im definitely a big Sumo fan.
