Question:

Hello, I am looking to add some of those suspension enhancements to my 2019 Ram 1500 Tradesman 4x4 crewcab with a 6 suspension lift on 35 tires. Is there a set that will work on my truck? I am hoping that bump stop things will help stop the squat... when towing my travel trailer. Thanks for your time and help Rob

Hello Rob,

Welcome to etrailer! I'm happy you found us.

The Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System # TDR1500DQ can work with your 6 inch lift, but we'll need to figure out the correct spacer setup first. I attached an image showing where to measure. Just measure from the top of the axle to the frame where the Timbren will contact.

The Timbren spring is 5-1/2 inches tall, and Timbren recommends up to a 1 inch gap between the spring and the axle, although most people prefer around a 1/2 inch gap so the Timbren engages a little sooner when towing.

The Spacer Kit for Timbren Suspension Enhancement System # T68MR includes two 1 inch spacers and two 1/2 inch spacers, giving you up to 1-1/2 inches of spacer height per side. If it turns out you need more than that, you can add the Timbren 1 Inch Spacer for Raised Frame Vehicles # A25723-90AH00. Since you'll be stacking spacers, you'll also need to pick up longer mounting bolts from your local hardware store.

Once you get that axle-to-frame measurement, send it over and I'll let you know exactly which spacers you'll need.

Happy Friday, I have the Timbren installed on a 2022 Ram 1500 with the stock Off-Road Package. The SES is just over an inch from engaging. I usually tow a boat with the truck bed loaded, and have not had a single suspension problem with the truck "squatting" even when loaded. In my setup I hardly ever worry about the SES having to engage. Additionally, there is enough gap that the SES does not affect daily driving at all.

Yeah, I have a 2020 Ram 1500 Laramie with hemi off road package towing a Cougar 1/2 ton travel trailer. The Timbrens make a world of difference for stability while towing with the truck handling so much better than stock taking the squat out of the rear. The truck is almost level when loaded up, of course I put minimal water in the fresh water tank and try to keep it light. Went to Utah and Grand Canyon last year from California, it handled well for a half ton! You can't beat Timbrens for the money and what they accomplish!
