Question:

I have a 33foot total length travel trailer. Im within my weight limits on tongue weight and overall weight but I still feel like the truck bucks side to side some. Im using an equal-I-zer 2 sway control hitch. Will using this product potentially help the sway Im feeling? I know the best thing to do would be to get a 3/4 ton truck but thats not in the cards right now.

You will definitely gain handling benefits from using a properly-rated and correctly-installed weight distribution/sway control hitch when towing your 33-foot travel trailer with your Ram 1500.

Your loaded TW is going to be right around 1000-lbs so good systems that match are the Equalizer # EQ37120ET and the Reese Steadi-Flex # RP66560 that both work for 800 to 1200-lbs tongue weight (TW). Just add an appropriate size hitch ball to complete these systems, either # A-90 (2-inch) or # 19286 (2-5/16-inch) and a socket # ALL643216 to install it. You will want to confirm that your current system is rated correctly for your actual TW. If you are not feeling benefits from using it it may not be up to the task.

Using a WD/SC system is considered mandatory when the trailer weighs even just half as much as the tow vehicle. The average 30-foot travel trailer when loaded typically weighs over 6000-lbs and the curb weight of the 2019 Ram 1500 ranges from 4800 to about 5300-lbs so you definitely need a WD/SC hitch to tow safely.

You will want to be sure your trailer's loaded tongue weight (TW) is matched to the system you have. Equal-I-zer systems come with different size spring bars and yours should be chosen to match the trailer TW. I hooked up my Equalizer 4 on my 2019 Ram 1500. Drove for first time yesterday still had a little sway. Pulling a Forest River 32 ft. Trailer. What would be correct set up on all bolted adjusted parts. I dont have great physical mobility.

It sounds like you do not have enough tension on the bars, causing them to not to have as much friction when traveling down the road. I would try raising the the side brackets on the frame one hole and reinstall the bars. This should increase the amount of friction, reducing the amount of sway. If this does not reduce the sway trying raising the brackets one more hole.
