Rear Suspension Support

Towing or hauling a heavy load can cause rear sag as your factory suspension compresses under the weight of the load. This means that the rear axle is trying to support not only the extra load but also the weight of your vehicle. And because there is less weight on your front axle, your front tires make less contact with the road, which causes problems with traction, steering, and braking. SumoSprings upgrade your vehicle's factory suspension to level your vehicle, improve driving performance, and keep your ride comfortable.

Installed spring when it is not compressed

SumoSprings provide progressive load control - the more you load them, the stiffer they become. With a lighter load, the springs will compress easily for soft engagement and a less bumpy ride. The closed-cell urethane material allows for smooth contact between the springs and your vehicle. And the springs act like a shock absorber to dampen road vibration.

Installed spring when it is compressed

The springs can also compress by as much as 80 percent to support a heavy rear load and to help your factory suspension bear up under the load. This evens out the weight, which levels your vehicle and ensures that your front tires are making better contact with the road. A level ride means that you have improved driving control, ensures safe headlight aim, and helps to minimize sway. The springs also support your factory suspension, which helps prevent sagging and reduces bottoming out.

The springs work independently from one another to support each side of your vehicle. This action helps to reduce body roll when you make a sharp turn. This also helps compensate for an off-center load.

Durable, Custom-Fit Springs

These microcellular urethane springs are tough. They resist abrasion, oil, salt, and UV rays that can more quickly wear out other springs, and they perform well in temperatures ranging from -25 F to 200 F (-33 C to 93 C).

SumoSprings compress vertically with minimum expansion to the sides, so they won't be damaged by nearby mechanical parts and they fit safely into tighter spots. And unlike air springs, SumoSprings require no maintenance or adjustment.

The helper springs are custom designed to fit your vehicle, and they install easily - no drilling required.

  • Comparing Timbren and SumoSprings for The Rear Suspension of a 2021 Toyota Tundra
The main difference when comparing Timbren and SumoSprings for suspension enhancement is going to be the weight capacities. Timbren uses hollow rubber springs that is able to support more weight but they can cause a firmer ride. The SumoSprings are made of a durable microcellular urethane that will progressively increase capacity as the spring is compressed. This will offer a smoother ride as the springs will better absorb the shock but they do not offer the capacity and stability of the...

  • Will Timbren Kit for 2013 Toyota Tacoma Fill with Water
Due to the design of the Timbren kit part # TABSOSR it would potentially fill with water if they were submerged. This eventually could lead to rusting out the base and even one guy remarked that when filled with water there is a "fart sound" when hitting bumps. The second part could be a pro or a con depending on how refined your sense of humor is. So instead of going that route I would recommend the SumoSprings Solo part # SSR-610-40 which does not have that void and is known for providing...

  • Option for SumoSprings on a 2016 Tundra with Aftermarket Suspension
From the weight capacities you listed, I suggest going with the SumoSprings # SSR-610-40. This will give you the needed support while not affecting the ride as much as a higher capacity option. I do have to mention, however, that all the suspension enhancement options we have currently available are designed to be used with stock suspension. It looks like the Falcon system on your 2016 Tundra did not lift the rear end of the vehicle, so as long as you have the space, it should fit without...

  • Is There Any Advantage in Using SumoSprings With Weight Distribution on a 2016 Toyota Tacoma
Even though the Super Springs SumoSprings # SSR-610-40 will help to keep your 2016 Toyota Tacoma level while towing like a weight distribution system, they are meant to keep your Tacoma from experiencing too much wear and tear while under a load. They can be used with or without a weight distribution setup, and will improve your rear suspension either way. A weight distribution system is geared towards making your whole towing setup more level and safe, where the SumoSprings are a little...

  • Recommended SumoSprings for a 2011 Toyota Tundra SR5
So long as the suspension in the rear of your Tundra has not be modified, I recommend the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs item # SSR-610-54. These have a 2,800 lbs capacity that will keep the rear end level when you have your truck weighted down. This system replaces your factory bump stops. If the back of your trucks suspension has been modified you'll want to use the SumoSprings item # SS48DR instead.

  • SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs for Tandem 3500 lb Axle Travel Trailer
Your 2019 Coachmen Freedom Express 246RKS is equipped with tandem 3500 lb axles. For that setup, the exact system needed will depend on where the leaf springs sit in relation to the axle. If the leaf springs are bolted atop the axle, you'll want to use two of the # TSS-107-40 kits. If the leaf springs are bolted to the underside of the axle, use two of the # TSS-106-40 kits.

  • Recommended Suspension Enhancement for 2015 Nissan Frontier Towing 5,000 Pound Travel Trailer
For your 2015 Nissan Frontier I would recommend the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SSR-610-40, which are the blue SumoSprings. Although SumoSprings are pretty good about not affecting your unloaded ride quality you're right, the others would be more stiff. The additional weight capacity wouldn't be necessary either. These helper springs will keep you level when towing while absorbing bumps and shocks. They have progressive load control and a microcellular urethane construction....

  • What is the Height of the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SSR-610-40
The overall height of the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs - Rear Axle # SSR-610-40 is 6 inches. These springs have a weight capacity of 1,000 lbs at 50-percent compression and are made of a durable mircrocellular urethane. They install in place of the factory bump stops. I have attached a review and installation video for your reference.

  • Should SumoSprings Have Preload With Vehicle Unloaded
According to the folks at SuperSprings, there should be a 1/2 to 1-1/2 inches of preload on an unloaded vehicle, so its likely that the suspension on your truck has worn to a small degree over the years. SuperSprings tells me that if the unloaded ride is more firm than you'd like, it's perfectly acceptable to trim a half inch or so from the springs. Doing so will not cause any harm to the springs and you'll get a less firm ride when the vehicle is unloaded. This won't affect the loaded...

  • Recommendation to Relieve Pressure on Weight Distribution System
Adding a suspension enhancement system like the SumoSprings # SSR-610-40 that you referenced might help to relieve some of the pressure you are having to put on your weight distribution system, but the actual benefits will be pretty minimal. This is essentially because your properly rated WD system won't really allow the springs to even engage too much, since the system is already distributing your tongue weight to the truck and trailer. These two components can also actually work against...

  • Can SumoSprings be Used With Weight Distribution Hitch on 2016 Toyota Tundra
You can definitely use SumoSprings with a weight distribution hitch like your Fastway e2 # FA92-00-1000 on your 2016 Toyota Tundra. What you want to do is install the SumoSprings and then adjust your weight distribution set up, like you mentioned. Since you do have a weight distribution hitch you do not need a heavy-duty suspension enhancement, so for your 2016 Tundra I recommend the 1,000 lb rated SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SSR-610-40. • Differences Between SumoSprings Kits For 2020 Toyota Tundra
The difference between SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs part # SSR-610-54 and part # SSR-610-40 is the weight capacity. The SSR-610-54 has a 2,800 lb capacity and the SSR-610-40 has a 1,000 lb capacity so it depends on what you plan on carrying in the bed how much capacity is needed. Both systems replace the factory bump stops and will cushion the ride while supporting the load. The springs are made of micro-cellular progressive material so they compress under heavier loads and...

  • Which SumoSpring Kit for 2017 Toyota Tundra
I'd go with the lighter duty SumoSprings for your 2017 Toyota Tundra for the reason you mentioned. The heavier duty ones will be much harsher. I only recommend the higher duty ones for people who plan to be at the capacity of their vehicle most of the time when travelling. The part # SSR-610-40 would be the better option. You'll most likely have to use lower spring bar tension with your weight distribution system as well.

  • How Much Clearance Between SumoSprings # SSR-610-40 and Frame on an Unloaded 2015 Toyota Tundra
It's going to vary some from vehicle to vehicle just because of how your truck rides. However, I reached out to SuperSprings and they told me that a half inch to an inch of clearance between the spring and the frame is fairly standard. The SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SSR-610-40 including the brackets are 6 inches tall. So if you need to determine exactly how much space will be between the spring and the frame of your Tundra you can always measure.

I have a great SumoSprings solution for you. Unfortunately, the blue SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs - Rear Axle # SSR-610-40 will not fit your 2021 Toyota Tacoma Trd 4x4. With that being said, for higher capacity springs on your truck to give you the support you need and eliminate sag, I recommend the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs - Rear Axle # SSR-612-40. For your 2016 Ford F-350 Diesel carrying a 1800lb truck bed camper and towing a 20' boat the correct SumoSprings would be the # SS84VR if your truck is 4WD or the # SSR-114-54 if your truck is 2WD. You will not need to add the springs to the front axle, just the rear.
