Video Transcript for Hands-On with the Hellwig EZ-990 Helper Springs
Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at these Hellwig EZ-990 Helper Springs. Now, these springs are designed to fit your 1988 to 1998 Chevrolet and GMC C and K Series 1500 pickup trucks, and then your 2007 to 2020 Toyota Tundra. On custom fit items such as these springs, it's always a great idea to use our vehicle fit guide here at etrailer.com. Input the year, make, and model of your vehicle, and our fit guide will let you know if these will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you. Now, these custom helper springs have a load leveling capacity of 2,000 pounds, and they are going to install above your truck's rear factory leaf springs to reduce sway and body roll while also preventing sagging when towing or hauling light loads.
And they'll extend the life of your factory suspension, tires, and brakes. These springs will flex with your leaf springs to limit bouncing while providing optimal stability. And these U-bolts that you see here on the sides, they can be adjusted to suit different loads, and the driver's and passenger's sides can be adjusted independently for uneven loads. Now, these springs are made here in the USA of a durable steel construction, which will ensure a long lasting performance. And they feature a silver vein hammer tone powder coat finish, it's gonna help resist corrosion.
This is a bolt-on installation. Again, they're gonna install above your factory leaf springs. Mounting hardware is included, and I kinda have these laid out here just to kinda give you an idea of what they're going to look like when you have them installed. So you have the mounting hardware, you have instructions to guide you through that installation process. I do wanna point out that you don't wanna install these on vehicles with composite or plastic leaf springs, because of the durability of these springs.
If you install them on a truck with plastic or composite leaf springs, those springs could be damaged with the installation of these helper springs. Again, the weight capacity is 2,000 pounds. However, I do wanna point out that these Hellwig helper springs do not increase your vehicle's weight carrying capacity. They do have a lifetime warranty on them from Hellwig.
