How to Minimize 2018 Toyota Tundra Sway While Towing a Heavy Trailer

Question:

I bought sumu springs for my Toyota Tundra and towing a travel trailer. When the trailer is hooked up it has a feeling as though the trailer is swaying. Watching the trailer and I do not see ant sway but the bed of the truck is swaying a little to give that feeling. Do I need a stiffer spring?

Sumo Springs should do a great job at helping to control the movement of your 2018 Toyota Tundra but if your suspension is worn out then newer leaf springs would help, but if you have the 1,000 lb SumoSprings # SSR-610-40 you can upgrade to a stronger SumoSpring:

- 1,500 lbs # SSR-610-47
- 2,800 lbs # SSR-610-54

With that being said, I saw in a previous question you sent in that your trailer is over the weight capacity of your Tundra. If this is the same trailer then it weighing more than what your truck can handle is most definitely a contributing factor. And if you aren't using a weight distribution system then I recommend doing so as it will help level your towing rig better than any suspension enhancement will, and it will help minimize trailer sway which, in turn, should cut down on how much that trailer is causing your truck to move.
