Heavy trailers, campers, or bed loads can make the rear squat and steering feel loose. This RoadActive Suspension kit adds up to 3,000 lbs of load-leveling support by turning your factory leaf springs into a mechanically active system. The variable-rated coil tension springs automatically adjust to your load, keeping the truck level and the tires planted for better braking, traction, and control. Even when loaded down hard, the rear end stays steady and the ride feels balanced front to back.

Most suspension helpers kick in late or make the ride harsh when you’re not hauling. RAS solves that with coil tension springs that react instantly under weight and disengage when unloaded. That means you get firm support only when you need it, without stiffening your daily drive. The springs can also be set between 25% and 40% tension during install using the included 1 mm and 2 mm spacers, so you can fine-tune how much extra support you want.

When heavy loads twist your leaf springs, axle wrap and wheel hop can shake your whole truck. This system stabilizes the leaf pack by absorbing extra force before it reaches the axle. The result is more traction off the line, smoother acceleration and braking, and less wear on shocks, shackles, and tires. It’s a mechanical fix that works automatically without the delay of air or hydraulic systems.

With a trailer or high center of gravity load, sway and body roll can take over fast. The RoadActive Suspension strengthens your factory leaf springs to fight side-to-side movement before it starts. It keeps the rear planted through turns, lane changes, or gusty highway winds so you stay in control of both truck and trailer. That stability also helps reduce driver fatigue on long hauls.
Each fully assembled unit bolts under your factory leaf springs using existing U-bolts—no drilling, cutting, or welding required. Once installed, there’s nothing to maintain or adjust. The alloy steel construction with epoxy e-coated springs resists corrosion and the end brackets are rated for more than 800 hours of salt spray. It’s a one-and-done upgrade that keeps working every mile without leaks or upkeep.

It works great. No sag when towing our travel trailer. Relatively easy install with clear instructions.
great. Superb!!
My 2021 Sierra Denali half ton was sagging under the tongue weight of my 3000 lb boat & trailer. I purchaesd and easilly installed the RAS custom leaf spring enhancement, set it at the lowest setting of 500 lbs and the tongue weight / sagging problem is fixed. I highly recommend this product !
Noticed the difference right away easy install can’t wait to haul my travel trailer
I like the product, but please be aware that it will raise the rear of your truck by 1-1.25 inches if you install this product. Just FYI, most trucks already have a 2-2.25 inch difference in front and rear height, so either you will have a 3+ inch rake to your truck, or you will need a leveling kit
Second set I have bought. Had them on my last truck now going to install on my new truck. They work and people ask what they are when they see it.

Still getting asked what the springs are for. Then they get interested in them.
Added them to my 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 and really helped hauling our travel trailer.
Purchase product was delivered quickly and in good shape. Very easy installation. Ride is great towing my trailer.
Received this part just a short few days after ordering and installation was fairly straightforward. You can do the install using only the enclosed instructions however I found the videos of the installs on both the eTrailer and RAS sites to be more helpful. It doesn't take all that long if you have the right tools (see video). I've read people commenting about a 15 minute job. I like to take my time and double check everything so it took me about an hour and half. Still not bad.

Having the RAS system has been a great experience. We pulled our 5k lbs trailer from Texas to the east coast and up to Niagara Falls and back with no issues. Except for the obvious change in fuel mileage, you could hardly notice the trailer was behind us. What I love most is that the trucks ride comfort didn’t change as all with the RAS, empty or loaded. It does raise the rear end of the truck about an inch over stock but it doesn’t seem to mind and it still looks good.
Easy installation
To be honest I can’t tell any difference once the trailer is hooked up. I actually think I get more sag now then I did a year ago before I had it. It does being up the rear while unloaded which was positive for me from an aesthetic point of view. I almost thing I would need to pair them with a set of sumo springs or something similar also.

So, I have looked a bit more into this, and have found that these are not the best for sag, they are designed to be best for handling and sway. You will need to make sure that you are on the right setting. You can check that out by looking at page 4 of the installation instructions. If you need something to assist with sag more than sway or handling, you can definitely use some SumoSprings, like part # SS45FR, along with the RoadActive, part # RAS54FR. They will both fit and will work well to reduce the sagging while loaded. You will want to start with the lowest setting on the RAS system and go up from there, depending on your comfort.
Raised the rear of my truck about 1". The rear of my truck rides better over dips and bumps. I did not have a chance to trailer with it yet but so far, I am pleased with this purchase.
Need more packing in box . Went thur both boxes. Wear paint of spring mounting bracket on bottom.
Easy install and does as advertised.
Easy install and great customer service. 2021 Chevy 1500 diesel short bed. Thank you.
Good so far haven’t had a chance to tow the camper yet. The install was pretty good as well.
It had quite a bit of load suspension to the truck
Very easy installation. These made a huge difference in the ride quality of my 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 with and without a trailer. Definitely worth the price!!!!

I highly recommend this product. Works just as advertised. I considered air bags at first, but this is a much better option. Its easy to install and I dont have to worry about air bag problems in the extreme cold of Alaska. These are a must for any 12 ton truck that youre going to be loading down with weight. Its a no brainer, get these for your truck!!!!!
Super easy install, 45 minutes in my driveway. Virtually eliminated my 6000 pound travel trailer sway and very little squat from my Silverado. Highly recommended, should have done it a year ago.
On my 2019 Silverado Z71, just as all of the online reviews that I read, have said, the truck actually rides better than new. No more bounce or mushy feeling on bumps. No more lean on the curves. Looking forward to towing with it! Install was maybe 45 minutes, and I did it without removing the rear tires/wheels. Super easy, as I only needed a handful of tools, a jack, & 2 jackstands. Will never do airbags again. Perfect compliment to my 2" leveling front struts.
After installing
RAS the ride in the truck with trailer became much more CONTROLLED, COMFORTABLE and BALANCED. Then I added gas shocks with it and I no longer feel beat up after a long tow.
Great product, helped with trailer sway and my truck didn’t squat when it had a trailer with my UTV on it.
Well Ive had these on my 2011 chevy silverado 1500 for over a year now. I pull a 2007 Kaufman 16 foot trailer. Even with these springs just hooking trailer up it squats my truck. When tralier is loaded maybe it helps some but not what I was expecting them to do. I was under the impression that they would help and not let the truck squat with just empty trailer. Also seems like my truck sways side to side sometimes with nothing hooked up.

The leaf spring enhancement like these is not going to be the best at helping reduce your squat or sway. Out of the suspension enhancement options this is going to correct those the least. Something like airbags are going to be the best option for getting your truck back to level ride which is going to reduce sway. The leaf spring enhancement does work but it sounds like your particular setup you need a little bit more of a heavy duty option to reduce that sag.

Very easy to install and made a big difference. I have 300lbs in the back a d it made it sag. With this on, look like stock height.

Glad we had the part to get rid of the sag Allen! What kind of system do you have in the bed?
I was a little concerned when they arrived as there was no instillation directions in the supplied literature. There was Ford, Dodge etc but nothing related to a 2023 Silverado 1500. I forged ahead using the universal instructions that were supplied. All turned out well. The instillation went much easier that expected. This is the second time in a month that I have ordered from etrailer.com. EXCELLENT fast service with lots of follow up on tracking etc. THAKS to all etrailer employees.

It was corroding so severely that I removed it from my vehicle, and it is lying in the corner of the garage waiting for the next trip to the metal recyclingcenter
