I am trying to decide whether I should buy Timbrens or Roadmaster active suspension for my 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 4x4. Any suggestions?

As for comparing the Timbrens # TGMRCK15S to the Roadmaster Active Suspension Custom Leaf Spring Enhancement Kit # RAS54FR on your 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 (4x4), the answer really depends on how much you tow or need suspension support for your Chevy. The Timbrens will do a great job for semi-regular towing or support, but if you are a regular tower I recommend going with the Roadmaster Active Suspension # RAS4611.

The reason is because the force put on your Chevy's springs when towing, or when you otherwise have a heavy load on your truck, gets transferred to the Roadmaster Active Suspension Kit, allowing your leaf springs to work normally. So the kit not only supports your suspension, it helps it from wearing over time.

You really can't go wrong with either kit, as both are the most popular, most effective options we have, so your 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 is going to get a nice suspension upgrade either way. It just depends on if you tow occasionally - and in that case I recommend the Timbren System # TGMRCK15S - or frequently - in which case the best option is the Roadmaster Active Suspension # RAS54FR.

Is there any value into having both? And what about adding sulastic shackles into the mix?

@JonO Doubling up would give you a really harsh ride quality. If you're going pick one definitely go with the RAS kit as it's overall best in ride quality and support.

@JamesonC I purchased both for my 2015 F150 and found that the base plate for the Tibren SES mounts in the same area where the active suspension resides. The rubber shock/air bag also interferes with the space the active suspension resides by about and inch. Not applicable to all trucks but, I would assume many models will have the same issue as they both mount next to the factory leafs.
