Today we're going to be taking a look at the Blue Ox 7-foot safety cables. These come as a quantity of two and offer and 10,000lb-per-cable weight rating. Part number is BX88197. These heavy duty safety cables are going to be be perfect solution for replacing old, worn out our even damaged safety cables. We have aircraft grade cable that's going to run through the center. That's what gives us that great 10,000lb-per-cable capacity, and then you'll see a nice rubberized coating over the cable.
That's going to prevent any scratching or abrasion of our tow bar. Got nice, wide hooks, should fit around any type of hitch you might have and any kind of safety chain connection you might have on your tow bar, and you'll see the keepers are going to keep them in place. That's spring loaded there. Where once it's in place, we won't have to worry about it coming off. You see we'll just connect that around our hitch. We like to cross them.
Bring it back, connect it there. You'll see that coiled design. That's going to allow us to extend these out to seven feet in total length, but it's going to coil up to keep it up off the ground so we can run them underneath our tow bar without having to worry about them hanging up or dragging them on the ground. Other side clipped in here. Now, we'll have plenty of room on the top where we can run our electrical coils, our air line or whatever other cables back to the vehicle that we need to without our safety cable interfering, and that's going to complete our look at the Blue Ox 7-foot safety cables with 10,000lb-per-cable weight rating.

On one occasion I forgot to hook one cable and I dragged it a few miles before someone let me know. Both the Safety Cables and Dual Hitch Receiver are excellent quality (vary well made). I plan on using the hitch so that I can carry my bikes on the back of the motor home while still towing a car.

What a great company !!! I ordered Blue Ox 7' safety cables (10,000 lbs.) and received the cables very quickly via their shipping policy. The cables were priced very well, and I'm pretty happy...all in all, it was great doing business with etrailer and I will be a repeat customer.
They work great, but I probably should have ordered the smaller size. They are a little tough to unhook after towing. They fit very snug on the base plate kit for my 1/2 Silverado. Most of the time I need to use a mallet to re-position them before I can remove them. So the problem is on me, not the product.

Safety cables worked great. Towed my suburban behind our RV to Alaska and back last summer. It was reassuring to know I had cables that would control the suburban should something come disconnected.

These cables were just what I needed. The original cables that come with the Blue Ox Ascent tow bar won't work with a Rock Hard 4x4 bumper clevis. Shipping was superfast the second time around using UPS. The USPS lost the first package; and after a 15-day delay was reshipped and received in 3 days. GREAT job

Not a problem but they are stretched a bit tighter than I would like to see which makes them a little hard to hook up to the jeep when towing behind the rv

I purchased this as part of a package which included; Hitch and wiring for my 2022 Equinox, Base plate, Tow Bar, brake System and connecting air hose, break away cables, LED tow lights with wiring harness, and a trickle charger to keep the Equinox battery from going dead while I was towing it behind my class A RV.
I had etrailer do the install of all the components on my car and RV. All the workmanship was excellent and done in the amount of time they said it would take. Also because they did not have a video of this equipment being put on this year and model vehicle, I gave them permission to make a video(which added a extra day and a half to the install)and the installation was free. Everything has worked perfectly and I couldn't be happier. Etrailer is my go to for anything towing and also RV parts.

the spring hooks are a bit of a hassle but the peace of mind makes it all worth it. I would by them again
