Question:

I have a new Enclave I am setting up to tow. I already have a Blue Ox Tow Bar so I will be ordering a Blue Ox base plate for the Buick. Being new, would I be better to use the light wiring kit that has its own bulbs to prevent impacting the warranty? Also, the 2017 Enclave says 3 fuses must be pulled for towing - the 50 amp and 2 15 amp. I know there is a 50 Amp fuse bypass and a 15 amp bypass. Is there a double pole, single throw bypass for the 2 15 amp switches so I don have to have 3 bypass switches?

First, let's quickly clear up the warranty issue. According to the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a warranty cannot be voided due to the use of aftermarket accessories, so you will be perfectly fine with whatever wiring kit you desire.

As for the base plate, the only Blue Ox which is a confirmed fit for a 2017 Buick Enclave is # BX1708. Also keep in mind you'll want safety chains # BX88197 if your tow bar does not have them integrated.

When it comes to lighting, you can use the magnetic tow lights # TL21RK, though I recommend the Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit # RM-154. When pulling the fuses, there are just a pair of bypass switches you will need, # RM-76517 and # RM76514; you will not need three switches.

A supplemental braking system is also a requirement in most states, and I strongly recommend the SMI Stay-IN-Play # SM99251, which you will only need to install once and never have to mess with again; no turning on or off or re-installing. Keep in mind that you'll need to use stop light switch kit # RM-751221 with this vehicle.

Finally, it is likely you will need a high-low adapter to keep your Enclave level with your tow vehicle. The adapter you need is going to depend on some measurements you'll need to take.
