Swagman Race Ready Adjustable Wheel Cradles

The Race Ready lets you transport 1 bike on your roof rack crossbars. This rack has an upright arm with a locking, adjustable clamp that holds your bike securely by the front wheel and a wheel cage that stabilizes the front wheel during transport. It secures your front and rear wheels with ratcheting straps that slide along the wheel tray to accommodate bikes of different lengths. It clamps to most crossbars, and the upright arm folds down for storage when not in use.

Padded, Ratcheting Hook

Swagman Race Ready Adjustable Upright Arm

The ratcheting hook on the upright arm holds your bike firmly by the front wheel - no frame contact. The padded hook won't scratch or scuff the tire, and the built-in lock secures the bike to the rack.

Wheel Cage

Swagman Race Ready Wheel Cage

It includes a wheel cage that stabilizes the front wheel to prevent shifting during transport.

Folding Design

Swagman Race Ready Upright Arm Folds Down

Both the upright arm and the wheel cage fold down when not in use. This improves overhead clearance so it's easier to park in your garage with the rack installed.

Sliding Wheel Straps

Swagman Race Ready Sliding Wheel Straps

The sliding wheel straps let you quickly secure your front and rear wheels to the carrier. These straps slide along the wheel tray so that you can carry bikes of different lengths.

Easy, Clamp-On Installation

Swagman Race Ready Adjustable Upright Arm

The Race Ready clamps easily to most crossbars - no tools required. Remove the hand knobs and lower clamps on the front and rear crossbar mounts, position the rack on your crossbars, then replace clamps and tighten the hand knobs.

Video Transcript for Swagman Roof Bike Racks Review - 2015 Hyundai Sonata

Speaker 1: Today on our 2015 Hyundai Sonata, we're going to be test fitting the Swagman Race Ready Roof Bike Rack, part number S64705. We already have a bike installed on our race. Let's take a closer look, and show off some of the features. How the bike attaches to the rack, we're going to have three points of contact with no frame contact at all. So for people that have the carbon frame bikes, this works out really well, because instead it grips it by the front wheel. And because it does that, you don't have to remove the front wheel, like you would with the skewer mounts. We also have two wheel straps on either side.

They are adjustable along the bike rack, to accommodate bikes of different sizes, as well as this point here that holds front tire in. That's also adjustable to accommodate bikes of different sizes as well. With everything installed as it is, we're not going to have any issues of clearance between the truck, and the bike rack, as there's plenty of space in between.Let's go ahead and take the bike off. We'll start with the straps here. You push the top portion of this notch in, which will release it.

We also have rim protectors here, to protect the wheels as well. Then holding onto the bike, we'll release our wheel hook by pushing in this button, and pushing up. To put it in place, you simply pull down, and it will ratchet into place. Come forward, and lift the bike up and off. When the bike is off, everything folds flat, and out of the way. How this attaches to the roof rack, we'll have this bracket at the front, and the four turn knobs.

Now the rear will have something similar, just with two turn knobs here. These bolts are interchangeable, depending on what style of roof rack system you have. Right now we have it on an elliptical. This will also work with Aero, squad, round, and most factory roof racks as well. There you have it for the Swagman Race Ready Roof Bike Rack, on our 2015 Hyundai Sonata. Here it is on our test course.

We'll start by going through the slalom. This is going to show us the side to side action, which simulates turning corners, or evasive maneuvers. Next, we're at the alternative speed bumps, which we'll see the twisting action. This will simulate hitting a curb or pot hole, or driving over uneven pavement. Finally, we have the full speed bumps, where we'll see the up and down action, which is just like driving out of a parking lot garage, or driveway.

Rack works well and is very dependable, even for long trips. However, using it for a fat bike has the disadvantage of lifting a bike that heavy onto my wife’s SUV roof. 665295

  • Roof Rack and Bike Rack Recommendation for 2005 Fleetwood Bayside Pop Up Camper
  • To carry bikes on the roof of a pop up camper you first need the camper to have a roof rack. You can install the Swagman Roamer LT # S80510. • Recommended Roof Rack, Bike Rack, and Roof Basket for 2004 Jeep Liberty
  • The Swagman Race Ready Roof Bike Rack - Wheel Mount # S64705 is a great option to use with a compatible roof basket. Unfortunately the Curt # C18115-117 is not compatible with bike racks. I recommend using a roof rack like the Yakima MegaWarrior Extra Large Roof Rack Cargo Basket # Y07080. This carrier is 52" long x 48" wide x 6-1/2" tall and has an adjustable load bar. This system can lock to your crossbars using brackets # Y07064 and locks # Y07202. If you don't already have crossbars,...

  • Roof Bike Rack Recommendation Bike with 48 inch Long Wheelbase
  • For a bike rack with a 48.6 inch wheelbase the Yakima Frontloader # Y02103 would be just little bit too short. For a better solution the Swagman Skyline part # S64705 can fit wheelbases that are up to 52 inches so it would be your best solution for such a long bike.

  • Recommendation for Carrying 4 Bikes with Pop Up Camper
  • There are a few different options available for transporting 4 bikes with your pop up camper, depending on how your camper is constructed. First, if your camper features a steel, 4 inch x 4 inch square bumper, you can use a bumper mount hitch like the Ultra-Fab # UF35-946402 to provide a 2 inch receiver for an RV approved, hitch-mounted bike rack. You can use # UF35-946401 if you instead have a 4-1/2 inch x 4 inch bumper on the camper. From there, I recommend taking a look at the Yakima...

  • Recommendation For Carrying 5 bikes on 2013 Toyota Prius
  • For your 2013 Toyota Prius, I recommend the Rola TX-102 2-Bike Rack for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting # 59400 which has an integrated cable lock and is able to carry 2 bikes. This is the maximum number of bikes that can be carried on a Class I trailer hitch receiver, so a bigger rack really doesn't help you any. This rack has the anti-sway cradles and also is able to tilt away to allow access to your rear cargo area. I recommend the hitch lock # RH2-XL to secure the rack to your hitch. To...

I've also included a link to all roof-mounted bike racks that include locks so you can peruse all of your options.
