Ask the Experts about this SeaSucker Roof Bike Racks

Do you have a question about this Roof Bike Rack?

  • Using a Kuat Transfer Bike Rack on a 2018 Chevrolet Volt
  • The Kuat Transfer 3 Bike Rack, part # TS03G is not compatible with a Class I hitch, however, its sister model, the Transfer 2 Bike Rack, part # TS02G, is. Class 1 hitches are not capable of hauling more than two bikes at a time, as the additional force generated by the third bike can damage the hitch or rack. If you'd like to add a little security to the Kuat Transfer, there is a lock kit available as part # PTSCLK12 that adds a hitch and cable lock to the system. I've included video...

  • Best Way to Carry 4 Bikes on a 2012 Lexus IS250C Convertible
  • This particular instance has to do with the way that a Class I hitch, like the Curt Class I Round Tube Receiver, part # C11047, is structured and the way that the leverage applied by the weight of the bikes will affect a light duty hitch. Class I hitches are only intended for use to carry 2 bikes because putting weight further back on the shank of the bike rack will apply undue force to the hitch and the rack itself, causing the shank of the bike to possibly bend and fail because of...

  • Most Versatile Hitch Mounted Bike Rack for Use with Multiple Different Types of Bikes
  • The most amount of bikes you can carry on a hitch mounted bike rack is five with a hanging bike rack like the Yakima RidgeBack 5 Bike Rack part # Y02459. However, a hanging bike rack like the above is not your most versatile option because it will require an adapter bar like the Yakima Tube Top Bike Adapter Bar part # Y02531 for bikes with an alternative frame which are pretty common. The most versatile option is a platform bike rack but this will only allow you to carry up to four bikes. Out...

  • How to Carry 3 Bikes on a 2018 Chevy Cruze Hatchback
  • The best way to carry 3 bikes on your 2018 Chevy Cruze Hatchback and keep access to your rear hatch without removing the bikes or bike rack is to either use a hitch mount bike rack for 2 bikes and a roof mount rack for the 3rd or to carry all three bikes on the roof. These 2 options will require more of an investment than a trunk mount bike rack, but they are your best and safest options. Unfortunately, there are no trunk mount bike racks that will fit the hatchback models at this time...

  • Recommended Bike Rack for a 2008 Honda Fit Sport
  • For the 2008 Honda Fit Sport, the rear bumper is so slim that the Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top, part # HRF2 will not work unless the vehicle has a trailer hitch receiver installed. Which at that point, you may as well just use a hitch mounted rack as the capacities will be higher, and you can get better features out of the rack. I recommend just going with the hitch because it's not hard to install and the flexibility in hitch racks and other applications is worth the increased cost....

  • Carrying 4 Bikes on a 2014 Toyota Prius Plug-In Hybrid
  • I have a solution for you but there are a few limitations with a Class I hitch that will change how you load the vehicle. A Class I hitch like the Curt, part # C11276 is limited to only carrying two bikes. A Class I hitch is designed to only have weight relatively close to the vehicle, so adding a third bike can risk significant damage to the vehicle and the hitch. I can't recommend the setup that you've looked at for that reason. Before I get into the recommendations for your...

  • Roof Mounted Tandem Bike Carrier for a 2017 Honda Civic Si Coupe
  • I do actually have a solution for your 2017 Honda Civic Si Coupe. However, you'll have to have a separate solution for the tandem bike. First and foremost, you'll want to verify the roof's capacity with your manufacturer or owner's manual to make sure you can carry the full system. You'll need to include the total weight of the bikes and carriers. For a roof rack, I recommend the Inno Square Bar kit, consisting of: - Inno Square Crossbars 54 inch, part # INB137 - Inno Feet...

  • Carrying at Least 2 Mountain Bikes on a 2016 Mercedes Benz E400 Wagon
  • I have a couple of solutions for you that take advantage of different systems to carry at least two mountain bikes on your 2016 Mercedes E400 Wagon. Unfortunately, there is not a hitch available for your E400 at this time. Instead, I recommend a trunk or roof mounted solution for your bikes, as this provides the least invasive method of adding carriers. For the trunk, I recommend the Yakima HangOut 2, part # Y02638 . This rack has anti-sway cradles, and includes all attachments...

  • SeaSucker Bomber Bike Rack Compatibility With Travel Trailer Wall
  • I reached out to SeaSucker and my contact said that as long as you mount the SeaSucker Bomber Roof 3 Bike Rack - Fork Mount - Vacuum Cup Mounted # 298-BB3008 to a smooth sidewall at the rear of the travel trailer, you won't have any problems with compatibility. Each of the vacuum cups is rated to hold 210 lbs, so they said you won't have any issue with that application.

  • 3 Bike Trunk Mounted Rack That Allows Rear Access for a 2017 Honda HRV EX
  • The Saris Bones 3, part # SA801BL is a confirmed fit for the 2017 Honda HRV, however, I can't recommend opening the rear hatch with the Saris Bones or any trunk rack installed. The weight of the rack can cause the hatch to either close without warning or fall off when the hatch is open, causing damage to the bikes, rack, or vehicle. If you decide to go with the Bones I recommend a 10 foot Cable Lock, part # CAB-10 to improve the security of the rack and a Swagman Frame Adapter, part...

  • Using a 4 Bike Thule Rack on a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder Towing a Pop Up Camper
  • You've got a couple options for your 2012 Rockwood Freedom 2280 pop up camper to carry your bikes. One of your most straightforward solutions would be to add a roof rack to the top of the camper itself. Based on my research, it looks like you will likely have a beveled, fiberglass one piece top on your Rockwood Freedom, so you can use the Swagman Ladder Rack, part # S80510 as a permanent installation on the camper's roof. This will create a 150 pound capacity square bar roof rack...

In order to install a roof rack on your vehicle, you will need the Malone AirFlow2 Universal Roof Rack part # MPG215 for models with factory side rails or the Inno Aero Crossbar System part # INXB108-115, part # INXS200, and part # INK329 for models without factory side rails.
