Video Transcript for Valterra RV Water Inlet: The Breakdown

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at a Valterra water inlet for RVs. Now, this water inlet simply provides the access point for filling your RV's water tanks, so you can attach a fresh water hose to this unit and fill your tanks this way. It does have the filter right here, so it is designed to filter out anything that would try to get into your fresh water supply and contaminate it. That's a nice design that's built into the unit. Also, it comes with a dust plug. It covers up that connection point for when the inlet is not being use. Now, this is constructed of a durable metal construction.

It's black in color. Mounting hardware and installation thread tape are included. It also comes with your brass check valve. Again, the press-in dust plug, putty tape and the plastic male nipple. The overall diameter of the unit, I measured from edge to edge and got a measurement of 4 5/8 inches, and then the mount holes going at a straight line are separated on center, apart from one another, by 3 9/16 inches. To get it installed, it is a recessed flange mount and it does require a 3 5/8 inch diameter hole for installation. That's going to do it for today's look at the Valterra water inlet for RVs..

Fits perfectly. Bought this for my pop up camper. Will order from etrailer again in the future. Excellent customer service and speedy shipping.

This RV water inlet replaced a plastic unit that had stripped threads.
This one was brass. It fit the original screw holes perfectly.

by:

Works great

by:

Excellent part fits like it should

by:

Purchased this to replace factory water inlet fitting that leaked in both directions.
Factory piece had plastic threads for the hose end, this piece has metal threads. Came with screws and putty, replaced the factory unit perfectly! No more leaks!

Shipping was super fast!

Everything worked out great with very quick shipping, and I'm ready for this weeks next RV ADVENTURE.
Hose said 12" but I wasn't sure if that was 12" total with connectors or just 12" hose , which would be 14" total w/ connectors .

by:

Easy install and quality product. Came will all the installation parts needed.

This will work for a replacement, the base is metal and all items were there for an easy install. Thanks again, eTrailer

by:

This is my 3rd try and 3 different brand of these plastic check valves. The original on the travel trailer leaked a steady drip from day one from 2017. I figured it was time to stop the leak. I tried one brand same leak, tried another same leak. I used Teflon pipe tape and then a Kevlar pipe sealant still leaked. The tolerances on these plastic pipe fixtures are terrible. Looking at the threads you can tell they’re going to leak. So I’m back to square one with the constant fast drip. I also tried a brass check valve before I learned you can go brass female to plastic male but not plastic female to brass male. The treads won’t seal.

Unfortunately this turned out to be junk. It started rusting around the edges within six months of purchase.

the Valterra Water Inlet for RVs - Metal Recessed Flange - White -
was a replacement for my 98 5th wheel, it is made will, great fit,
comes with all you need but tools to install the new one.
Looks great and works like it should.
The white color - I would call Artic white.

by:

The product fits perfectly and was exactly what I needed. Thanks, etrailer!

by:

Had usual ugly white city water intake cover/flange. The worst color to stand up to UV and mold/mildew stains. All my exterior trailer accessories are being converted to black; door hatch to drain outlet. Not only does the rig look immediately sexier, it will withhold the elements better.
This part, A01-0169LFVP, is not available through most competitors, yet it is a standard replacement for my travel trailer and has a standard 1/2" faucet hose hook up for the interior, and the exterior is a standard 3/4" garden hose hook up.

It couldn't get simpler than this, and thank you for having it in black!

by:

Arrived timely and was easy to install. The inlet is sturdy and well made. The supplied videos were helpful for making the proper selection

by:

I had to replace this due to the sun ruining the plastic surrounding the connection. Trim on the new one is nice white metal instead of the stock plastic. Came with everything I needed for installation. Only thing is the male-to-male adapter you may need, (I did) is plastic. Had to be real careful tightening plastic fitting to brass. Would be better with a brass adapter, but works fine.

by:

Nice, durable, and easy to install. I used larger screws than the supplied ones, so I could utilize the existing holes in the trailer exterior wall. Recently learned to leave an elbow or leader hose attached to reduce wear on this fitting. I believe the check valve seized on my old inlet, causing it to leak both inside and outside the trailer, but it was simpler to change the 15-year-old inlet than to troubleshoot the check valve.

by:

Very easy to install & tech support was awesome when I called to talk on the ph.

I wasn't sure if this would fit. Description and picture helped me decide. And it fit just right. Installation was simple and now no more leaking hoses.

by:

I bought it to upgrade the water port on my one year old Winnebago trailer. The old port was getting loose as the molded plastic was no longer retaining the fitting well. This new port is much better built and the water connection is less recessed so it is easier to access. The gripper makes connecting and disconnecting simpler as well.

The screw holes lined up well though not quite perfectly. It would probably have been fine to just driven the screws back in and been done with it, but I chose to rotate the unit about 30 degrees and created 3 new holes.

One minor gripe - The included screws are phillips only. Come on Valterra, this is for the RV industry where square drive is the standard. I solved it by just reusing my original screws.

  • Replacement Water Inlet for 2025 Coachmen Apex Nano 194BHS
Hi Kris; I'm not sure if it is the city water or gravity fill inlet but we have options for both. I don't have a way to know for sure what is on the 2025 Coachmen Apex Nano 194BHS but I it looks like they're separate black recessed inlets.
