Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at this BMB Polar White RV City Water Hatch. This RV hatch for city water fill with check valve is going to replace a worn or damaged unit. And let me go ahead and give you some overall measurements right up front so you can be confident this is going to work for you. So looking at the overall width, as you can see we are sitting right at about six inches wide.
Overall height from bottom to top, about 6 1/2 inches tall. And then looking at that cutout dimension, looking at the width first, we're sitting right at about 4 1/4 inches wide. And then on the height about 4 3/4 inches tall. Lemme go ahead and try to give you that collar depth as well. We're sitting right at about inch and a half.
The total depth when you include that spout there is going to be right at three inches. And then that inside water connection is 1/2 inch MPT. So the check valve is going to prevent backflow into the city system when under pressure, and this is not going to. You're not gonna have to worry about any of this rusting or anything like that. This does have a removable screen filter, so that's gonna be very easy to clean and replace.
The grip collar is going to let you easily attach and detach your hose and this tethered plug is going to protect that fill point when it's not in use. Pop it back into place like that. And then this locking door is going to give you security. This also, if you probably already noticed, has a hatch that's going to give you an access door for a hose while this is locked. So that's a addition this has here.
And then this does include the key to lock this just like that, so it's secure. And then the plastic itself is very durable. It's UV-stabilized plastic, so you're not gonna have to worry about this yellowing or discoloring or anything like that. It's also resistant to salt and impacts. So very durable. (device clacking) It is made here in the USA. It's NSF, IAPMO, CSA and TEI certified. And it includes everything that you see here on my table before me. Happy with the quality of the part. Unhappy that the part did not show up with a key, the mounting screws or the sealing tape shown in the description and product video.
It was exactly what was needed. The only glitch was that the lock and latch connection is very tight and I need to push and wiggle a lot to get it unlocked. We have to sand the plastic part down with a dremel.
