Can I Install Two of the TorkLift GlowGuide Handrail for Campers and RVs w/ GlowStep Scissor Steps?

Updated 07/02/2026 | Published 05/28/2026

Question:

On Instagram I am seeing an additional handrail that bolts onto RV steps. I already have the elongated handrail on the left side. I am partially disabled and need help with a handrail on the right side also. Do you carry any handrail that would work on the right side? We currently have the glow steps and we have a Heartland Bighorn 5th wheel. Thank you Sheriann

Hey Sheriann. The TorkLift GlowGuide Handrail for Campers and RVs with GlowStep Scissor Steps item # TLA7621 can be installed on either side of the steps. The issue with installing two of them is that you won't be able to open your door all the way. The railing is going to limit your door to only being able to open 90°. Plus you won't be able to reach the railing until you get past your trailer's door. This is the only compatible option for the GlowStep Scissor Steps.

The MORryde Safe-T-Rail Telescoping RV Hand Rail item # MR54BR would be my only other option that isn't step specific. It's going to have the same issues with blocking your door from opening all the way. This railing bolts directly to the side of your 5th wheel trailer.

I had installed the Torklift Glowguide railing on our 2020 Rockwood Signature with the 5-step Torklift Uprising steps. (The steps collapse and store upside down in the doorway; our RV garage is too narrow to allow the factory-installed Lippert swing-down solid steps to be used inside.) The Glowguide worked OK, but it took me a few minutes to put on and take off, and had to be stored in it's box in a storage bin. My wife and her sister saw the Safe-T-Rail installed on several new trailers while we were at a dealership, and both of them wanted the Safe-T-Rail installed. So I got to install 2 of them, one on ours, and one on SIL's Flagstaff Classic (same trailer as ours, different name)!! Once installed, the Safe-T-Rails take all of 5 seconds to store or deploy!!
