Question:
Looking for Morryde safety rail for a 2 step stair

Hi Kenneth, I completely understand why you’re looking for a handrail for a short two step entry. A 2 step stair can feel surprisingly sketchy. For a two step setup, your best match is the MORryde Safe T Rail Telescoping RV Hand Rail for Motorhomes with the 16 inch extension, part # MR34RV. It is the shorter version of the part # MR54BR rail you were looking at, and it tends to pair really well with two steps because it still gives you a long, sturdy grab point that reaches down alongside the steps without being unnecessarily long.
This rail is designed to mount to a flat fiberglass exterior wall next to the entry door, so the biggest thing is confirming you have the clearance for the brackets and that nothing around the doorway will interfere. You will want your slide out, if you have one near the door, to be at least 4 and 1/4 inches away from the outside edge of the door, and any nearby windows or awning arms should be at least 2 and 1/2 inches from the door frame. Under the door you will need about 1 and 7/8 inches of clear space so the lower bracket can mount correctly, and you will also want to make sure there is no trim or step well obstruction that would block the brackets from sitting flat. If those measurements check out, it will give you a rock solid handle that folds away neatly and makes those two steps feel a lot more secure.
What camper and step setup are you running now?

Hello Kenneth, my name is darryl you were asking about the handrail. I replaced it, but I replaced the one that I had with that telescoping handrail and I absolutely love it. I don’t worry about somebody playing a practical joke and folding the other handrail in front of the door then I would never be able to get out and it goes down far enough that my grandkids can grab a hold of it and come up the stairs. I recommend it it works well. It’s easy to install. Just be sure to seal all the holes and along the bottom rail of the handrail that goes against the coach. Good luck.

I installed the Safe-T-Rail on both doors of our KZ Sportster 5th Wheel Toy Hauler. My only issue with the install was that the studs inside my wall were too narrow and I had to drill new holes in the Handrail Bracket. The Predrilled holes (when placed per the instructions, caught just the edge of the stud. My advice is to ensure where the edge of the stud is in your wall. We are completely happy with the Handrail itself and consider it a great upgrade. No issues since installing it.

WE BOUGHT THIS HANDRAIL FOR BOTH OF OUR DOORS ON OUR NEW 2024 MONTANA HIGH COUNTRY 377FLL. I AM A BIT SHORT (5'3") AND COULDN'T REACH THE SMALL HANDLE THAT CAME ON IT. THIS HANDRAIL ALLOWS ME TO HOLD ON ESPECIALLY CARRYING THINGS IN AND OUT AND I LOVE THEM.
