Hi Martyn,

For your 2020 Keystone Cougar 27SGS Half Ton with the 3 step MORryde step unit, the correct option you’ll want is the MORryde Safe T Rail Telescoping Handrail part # MR54BR.

This model is designed to mount to the flat fiberglass exterior wall on your fifth wheel and pairs really well with a 3 step setup. It gives you a long, sturdy grab handle that extends down alongside the steps, making it much easier and safer to get in and out of your RV.

I did take a look at photos of the Cougar, and it appears the slide out sits fairly close to the entry door and steps. Before ordering, I would definitely recommend measuring to make sure you have enough clearance. You’ll want the slide out to be at least 4 1/4 inches away from the outer edge of the door. Windows and awning arms should be at least 2 1/2 inches from the door frame. Under the door, you’ll need about 1 7/8 inches of clear space so the bottom bracket can mount properly. Also make sure there isn’t any trim or other obstruction around the step well that would interfere with the brackets.

If all of those measurements check out, the telescoping handrail will work great for you.

If you’d like, feel free to share a couple photos of your door area and I can help you double check everything.

Many thanks. Slide is a good foot away and the awning arm is right there too. I have about 5 to 6 inches available space.

@MartynH Awesome! In that case the MORryde Safe T Rail Telescoping Handrail part # MR54BR is what you need for your fiberglass trailer.
