This Advent Air AC unit lets you replace an old or broken air conditioner on your RV or camper. It works with your existing Advent Air or Dometic air distribution box, and it is compatible with Coleman Mach or Carrier setups if used with an adapter wiring kit (ACCOLKIT, ACCARKIT - sold separately). The AC has a powerful fan and motor that provides a steady stream of air to efficiently cool the inside of your RV on a hot or muggy day. And everything you need in order to replace or add an AC unit is included, which makes installation simple and easy.

Simple Installation

Because your RV is likely already prepped and pre-wired for an AC unit, installation is simple and easy. Most AC units, including this one, are designed to fit an opening that measures 14-1/4" x 14-1/4". Depending on your roof setup, you may need to do minimal alterations. If the opening is larger than 14-3/8" x 14-3/8", you will need to install spacers between the sides of the unit and the opening's edges. If the opening is smaller than 14-1/8" x 14-1/8", you will need to enlarge the hole to fit the unit snugly inside the opening.

Advent Air AC Collapsible Gasket and Foam Pads

On the bottom of the AC, there's a thick, collapsible gasket with 6 noise-reducing foam pads. This provides support between the RV roof and AC and seals the opening to prevent water and outside air from leaking in. Because of this, the use of fresh sealant isn't needed. Once installed, the hard plastic cover on the AC can easily be removed for maintenance and cleaning.

And in order to fully complete installation, this AC needs to be paired with your existing Advent Air, Dometic, Coleman Mach, or Carrier air distribution box and thermostat. Please note that an adapter wiring kit (sold separately) is needed if you are replacing a Coleman Mach or Carrier air conditioner.

Additional Accessories

Additional accessories can be purchased separately to improve the performance of your Advent Air AC unit. The start capacitor (ACMSCKIT) improves the performance of your AC by using stored energy to jumpstart it. And the electric heat strip (ACMHD) removes the chill on cold or frosty mornings in your RV, ensuring you stay comfortable. Please note that the heat strip will only work on Advent Air AC units.

Advent Air Warranty Coverage

2-Year limited warranty covers defective units when installed correctly on approved applications. The warranty does not cover units installed incorrectly. To ensure air conditioner is installed correctly, please see the questionnaire pdf below. A filled-out questionnaire is required for warranty coverage.

If you are not comfortable using a voltmeter (or removing the charge from the start capacitor), youll want to make a service appointment with your local RV dealer to verify the installation. Print the pdfs below (warranty- questionnaire, warranty dealer information) and take them along with the RV to your local dealer. ASA does compensate dealers for warranty work as outlined in the dealer information pdf. You may be charged by the dealer for time spent investigating the installation.

Pleasureway motorhome. Lots of support from e-trailer and the install went well. This unit is loud. It cools the motorhome easily but could use a lower/quieter fan speed.

Super fast shipping, great price, very helpful staff. Installation was super easy. Replaced one of my original 1998 Duo Therm units with this unit. Getting the old unit unstuck was a bit of a challenge but from there it was just a matter of getting it lined up with the hole, attaching the cold control, putting the 4 bolts in, plugging it into the original connector, putting the plastic cover plate back on and turning it on! From experience I know that even the simplest of projects on an rv can snowball into a major ordeal. Without a doubt this was one of the easiest and most straightforward projects I’ve tackled. Working in 95° Oklahoma heat start to finish was under two hours and that included replacing the old foil sealing tape around the air duct. Having two strong people on top while I was inside to get it centered over the hole, getting the old unit down and the new unit up was a huge asset! I’ll be replacing the other unit sometime over the winter for sure. Just can’t think of anything negative about the whole experience.

Still running great. Took an 11 day trip this year during plus 90° temps, used it almost non stop not only while camping but while traveling down the road using the generator. Still very pleased with the purchase.

by:

It is a very good unit. I works really well. Was very simple to install and get it running. Will recommend that anyone buying this also buy the Starter kit ACMSCKIT to. it will make it so much easier on the unit and will help with the surge every time the kicks on.

This Unit has worked great in our 1998 Coachman Pop-up camper. The company was great to deal with. The package showed up damaged but the unit still going strong.

by:

Shipping was very speedy and the installation was a snap. Was able to use the old Dometic heat strip with this unit so that was a great bonus. It is a direct replacement for the old unit and is a little smaller overall so easier to install.

Highly recommend this unit and etrailer for all the support!

by:

Exactly as advertised, installed myself. If you aren't doing business with etrailer, you get what you deserve.

by:

Five stars so far. I just received this and installed it over the weekend at our permanent campsite. I was replacing the stock Dometic A/C unit which would no longer cool. Installation (aside from getting up on to the roof) was dead simple. This unit is quieter than the original and cooled the inside of our trailer in no time at all. The last unit ran for six years. Time will tell how this one lasts.

Time is the true test of any product. One year later and this replacement unit continues to run strong, cool quickly and stay relatively quiet compared to our previous unit.

by:

First I appreciate your websites search feature for finding the right replacement for my RV and second the helpful videos for making the installation easier. The price was good and decent delivery time.....Thank You for your Help

by:

A very clean unit.. Works perfectly. Easy to install. Came with a "soft Start" capacitor... Use it almost every day.. Replaced a dead unit, fits in the normal 14" vent square... Takes 110 AC does not need 12 volt...

by:

I replaced my Coleman with this Advent on my 2004 Fleetwood Flair and it has worked great in the 100 degree Texas heat, It was basically a plug and play, having both schmatics switching some plug wires around. Best of all was the purchase price anf timely delivery.

by:

I've been purchasing the Advent air conditioner for my customers. Great AC for the price.

by:

After having a dometic ac for only four years. Compressor went out.I purchased the Advent air 13,500 on our first trip out mid 90's ac done fine we were in shade. I'LL have to say,the dometic was ever working properly. E trade always rocks it with delivery and costumer service

by:

Advent sucks, we had issues with the unit and verified it with an AC repair company and they denied it was even their part… it came straight out of their lower unit, so I won’t be using them anymore.

by:

Once I had all the correct parts (bad on me). The AC has been working great. With the weather here in south west NM (hot) it has been a life saver thanks again for all of your help

PERFECT still putting out cold air no other problems

by:

Absolutely the best experience with ordering, shipping and installing these units. Super easy literally plug and play as described. I have a small issue with one of the new units freezing up now that all 3 are working again, so we will see how they handle this part of this sale.

by:

ac unit works great, keeps motorhome nice and cool

by:

Only took a few days to be delivered and went right in only took me an hour to take off the old one and put on the new one and it was blowing cold air

by:

On time delivery, good customer service, and an easy company to work with.

by:

Installed and working.

by:

When the outside temperature increases, the body of the unit causes the fan squirrel cage fan to make contact with the base of the unit making a very annoying rub noise that is very audible. Changed out the squirrel cage to a new piece and still has the same issue. Otherwise, the A/C unit works great.

Sorry you are having this issue, as that is definitely not something we like to hear. It looks like customer service has reached out to resolve the issue. Sorry again that this happened and please let us know if anything else comes up!

by:

Installation was pretty simple and straightforward. The unit cools exceptionally well (freezes out the bedroom in our fifth wheel!). ONLY concern was the the packaging was pretty minimal, and the steel tray base of the unit was pretty banged up upon arrival. I was afraid the unit might have suffered internal damage, but after straightening some dents and bends in the base tray, it installed tight to the roof and fired right up. I WOULD strongly recommend to etrailer that they consider over-boxing the original packaging, to prevent this kind of damage in shipping -- these units are just about at the outside limit of what a UPS/FedEx delivery driver can handle alone, and based on the condition of the box (and the bend in the middle of the base-tray), I strongly suspect the unit must have hit the ground fairly hard coming off the delivery truck.
OVERALL, very satisfied with the product.

by:

After an incident with a tree branch, our factory ac (coleman) needed to be replaced. I went with the Advent over the coleman for price and reviews, and it works great. I have never replaced an AC unit before, but a couple of youtube videos and about 45 minutes of work and we were back in business.

by:

This product was NOT run tested before shipping. The squirrel cage fan in the unit was sticking on the foam housing and almost burned out the motor before I detected the problem and re-aligned the motor mount to stop this from happening.
This is NOT the way to go.
To say that I am P.Oed is understatement.
Also as I had the foam housing off I noticed that the aluminum fins on the radiator had some minor damage.
Altogether some poor and sloppy workmanship

Would NOT recommend your company again.

I can certainly understand your disappointment in the AC unit. This is not how expect the AC unit to arrive. I will have our customer service team reach out to you.

by:

Very east to install, quiet, shipped out quickly.

by:

We are very happy with the Roof top air conditioner we purchased for our RV. Thank you Tommy for advising us to get the start capacitor also. It was a great recommendation. Installation was a breeze. Having the extra AC has been great keeping us cool on these really hot almost 100 degree summer days. Thank you e-trailer.

by:

Cold air just in time thanks.

  • Difference Between the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner # ACDOM135B and # ACM135B
The only difference between the Advent Air Replacement Rooftop RV Air Conditioner # ACDOM135B and the part # ACM135B is that the first one includes the Start Capacitor # ACMSCKIT. Other than that the wiring on these units are the exact same. The Dometic setup simply means that this is compatible with your current setup (ceiling vent and thermostat) if you are replacing a Dometic rooftop AC unit.
