6-Pin Connector

This Advent Air AC unit lets you replace an old or broken air conditioner on your RV or camper. It has a 6-pin connector for easy plug-and-play installation and it works with your existing Advent Air or Dometic air distribution box. The AC has a powerful fan and motor that provides a steady stream of air to efficiently cool the inside of your RV on a hot or muggy day. And everything you need in order to replace or add an AC unit is included, which makes installation easy.

Simple Installation

Advent Air AC Installation 15,000 BTU

Because your RV is likely already prepped and pre-wired for an AC unit, installation is simple. Most AC units are designed to fit an opening that measures 14-1/4" x 14-1/4". Depending on your roof setup, you may need to do minimal alterations. If the opening is larger than 14-3/8" x 14-3/8", you will need to install spacers between the sides of the unit and the opening's edges. If the opening is smaller than 14-1/8" x 14-1/8", you will need to enlarge the hole to fit the unit snugly inside the opening.

Advent Air AC Collapsible Gasket and Foam Pads

On the bottom of the AC, there's a thick, collapsible gasket with 6 noise-reducing foam pads. This provides support between the RV roof and AC and seals the opening to prevent water and outside air from leaking in. Because of this, the use of fresh sealant isn't needed. Once installed, the hard plastic cover on the AC can easily be removed for maintenance and cleaning.

And in order to fully complete installation, this AC needs to be paired with your existing Advent Air or Dometic air distribution box and thermostat.

Additional Accessories

Additional accessories can be purchased separately to improve the performance of your Advent Air AC unit. The start capacitor (ACMSCKIT) improves the performance of your AC by using stored energy to jumpstart it. And the electric heat strip (ACMHD) removes the chill on cold or frosty mornings in your RV, ensuring you stay comfortable. Please note that the heat strip will only work on Advent Air AC units.

Advent Air Warranty Coverage

2-Year limited warranty covers defective units when installed correctly on approved applications. The warranty does not cover units installed incorrectly. To ensure air conditioner is installed correctly, please see the questionnaire pdf below. A filled-out questionnaire is required for warranty coverage.

If you are not comfortable using a voltmeter (or removing the charge from the start capacitor), you'll want to make a service appointment with your local RV dealer to verify the installation. Print the pdfs below (warranty- questionnaire, warranty dealer information) and take them along with the RV to your local dealer. ASA does compensate dealers for warranty work as outlined in the dealer information pdf. You may be charged by the dealer for time spent investigating the installation.

Hi Deb; if you order the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner # ACM135B along with the Carrier Adapter Wiring Kit # ACCARKIT you won't need anything else. This AC unit will plug directly into your Carrier setup so you can use your old Carrier ceiling vent and thermostat. It is also available in white # ACM135 if you would prefer that over black or you could use the low profile models # ADV79FR or # ADV89FR

  • What Distribution Box Is Required When Installing The Advent Low Profile AC In a New Opening?
As you are adding the Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner # ADV89FR to an opening on your RV which did not already have an AC you will need to select from one of the 2 options. First is the manually controlled Air Distribution Box # ACDB. This has the manual dial you will switch on and off as needed. The other option is the Air Distribution Box w/ Wall-Mounted Thermostat # ACRG15. This is typically more convenient and necessary on taller campers where you cannot easily reach the ceiling...

  • Need Direct Plug And Play Replacement For Dometic Duo-Therm 659516.531
Hello Scott. Our best option for replacing the Duo-Therm is an Advent AC unit. The Advent AC units are made to be directly compatible with Dometic AC systems. Meaning the AC unit will plug in, and all of your ceiling registers and thermostat will stay in place and work exactly the same (only with colder air). We have Advent units available in both 13,500 BTU and 15,000 BTU depending on your needs. Here is what I recommend: 13,500 BTU - Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner - 13,500...

  • Do I Need a 15,000 BTU or 13,500 BTU AC System for a Enclosed Trailer?
There is a formula to determine how much BTU is needed for a trailer. You will want to take the total square footage and multiply it by 20 and that's the minimum BTU you will need. The 15,000 BTU Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System item # FR23PV in black or item # FR55PV in white you were looking at would be a great choice. They're not consider low profile units like item # ADV89FR but they're not too much larger and the Furrion's come with everything you'll need. Our low profile...

  • Does The Air Distribution Box And Heat Strip Come With The Advent Air Low Profile Unit # ADV89FR
Hey Larry, The Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner # ADV89FR is just the rooftop unit. If you're needing the complete system then you'll want the # ASA36YR to get the heat strip and an air distribution box with the controls built into it. If you're wanting a wall thermostat then you'd need part # ASA89YR along with the heat strip # ACMHD instead.

  • How to Determine if Advent Air Low Profile Air Conditioner Will Work on RV
Hello Cori, It is possible you can use the Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner # ADV89FR on your RV, but we don't have any way of knowing what is on any specific RV to determine compatibility. First, if your current air conditioner has the control box built into the existing AC unit, then the # ADV89FR won't work as a replacement. Other than that, if you're replacing an Advent Air set up this unit will work. If you have a Carrier AC then it will work with Adapter Wiring Kit # ACCARKIT. If...
