Great AC, I installed this as an add on to my camper and it's colder than the factory Dometic AC.

by:

all good, easy installation the unit works ok.

by:

The company done great letting me know about shipping and arrival date . Unit did sustain some shipping damage . Main frame base was dented. Install for a replacement unit was not bad . Had to rework the opening and adjust mounting brackets . Instructions were easy to follow . The addition of the optional plenum for thicker roofs was a time saver . Wiring was a bit of an issue . No where in the product description or instructions did it state about having to supply additional 12vdc . Most units use a step down transformer in the PCB . This unit does not come to find out . Could not figure out why the thermostat harness didn’t have 12v dc coming out . After a call to Advent , I was informed to supply 12Vdc from an outside source ! After this hiccup, the job went smoothly. Unit does a great job cooling, and is quiet. Thermostat is easy to navigate through. Unit looks nice inside and out . Just not sure how long the rubber bands are going to hold up retaining the filter in the Florida heat .

by:

Overall an easy install. Would have been 5 stars but the discharge is a bit noisy….maybe it would be quieter if it was ducted instead of a direct dump airflow

by:

It works great and was easy to install

by:

Customer service was excellent My air conditioner arrived ahead of time which I was very pleased with I wil Update you when I have it installed

by:

Just as described.

by:

Installed perfectly
But i made a stupid
mistake and ordered a unit without manuel controls
My bad
So now i have to run wires to the wall for the t-stat to operate
Other then that its a five star setup

by:

works great.

by:

honestly havent opened the box for the unit yet but it came promptly and Etrailer was very easy to deal with.

by:

I bought 2 of them works great and operates more quite than the the old one did only got 1 lnstalled so far can’t wait till the other 1is installed

by:

Review from a similar Advent Air AC w Thermostat in RV Air Conditioners

Great product, put in a 2022 winniebago vista, one AC just wouldn't cut it. Other that than cutting the hole in the roof, pretty easy install. So now I have a new AC with its on power and extension cord.

Review from a similar Advent Air AC w Thermostat in RV Air Conditioners

I’ve only had the chance to run this once, being I am totally rebuilding a 1982 nomad trailer.
It seems to work just fine, but I’ll have to get the trailer completely livable to make sure it does the job.
The installation was pretty simple and went smoothly.

  • Replacing A Dometic Penguin II RV Air Conditioning System With An Advent Air RV AC System
Because the control box for your Dometic Penguin II RV air conditioning system (model starting with 641) is inside your rooftop unit both Dometic and ASA Electronics (Advent Air) recommend replacing the entire system. Some Penguin models have the control box in located in the air distribution box which would allow you to just use the adapter from the new rooftop unit to the air distribution box/control box and still retain use of the thermostat. Since you'll be removing the control box...

For a remote thermostat option with the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner w/ Air Distribution Box and Start Capacitor - 13,500 Btu - White, # ADV94FR. This will require wiring since you stated it does not currently have, you will need 115VAC power wire that you can pick up at pretty much any local hardware store. A Bluetooth option is not available for this.

  • Roof Air Conditioner Recommendation For A 1997 Chevrolet Express Van
For your 1997 Chevrolet Express van, I recommend the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner w/ Air Distribution Box and Wall Thermostat # ADV94FR. This AC will do a great job keeping your Chevrolet Express van cool thanks to its 6 blade fan with motor. This unit features a bolt on installation, a start capacitor to jumpstart the AC when a campsite, or generator doesn't provide enough power, and a wall mounted thermostat.

  • Can Two RV AC Units be Ran Off 30 Amp Power Source
RV AC units like the Advent Air part # ADV94FR that you referenced are designed to fit 14 inch by 14 inch roof openings so since your opening is 24 by 26 inch it would not work as-is unless you were willing to fabricate a smaller hole somehow. Running two AC units off of 30 amps is definitely going to be hard as they draw 15 amps when running and 45 to start.

There is a replacement AC you can use, though since your Coleman is a 7000 series, the wiring harness you mentioned won't work so you'd need to replace the unit as well as the wiring. Yours is a 13,500 Btu, and what you can replace it with is one from Advent: - Advent Air RV Air Conditioner w/ Air Distribution Box and Wall Thermostat # ADV94FR The # ADV94FR will work as a replacement for ducted or ductless ACs, and comes with a wall thermostat so it's easy to use.

While we don't carry a Dometic AC that is non-ducted, and is a 13,500 Btu unit, I have an alternate solution. The Advent Air RV Air Conditioner w/ Air Distribution Box and Wall Thermostat # ADV94FR will work great for you. This unit has a 13,500 Btu capacity, is non-ducted, and has a wall mounted thermostat.
