Advent Air Air Distribution Box

This air distribution box with a built-in thermostat works with Advent Air AC units (sold separately) and ductless RV air conditioner systems. The dial on the left controls the 3 fan speed settings, which let you increase or decrease the airflow. It also controls the 3 cool settings and the heat setting. The dial on the right allows you to set the temperature. Additionally, there are adjustable registers on the front and back of the box. These can be tilted up, down, or side-to-side for directing the air where needed. The removable air filter prevents dust and dirt from building up on the fan blades.

Installed this ac while on a 3 week RV trip cross country. I somehow managed to destroy my old ac from a low branch and had etrailer send new one to one of my trip stops. The installation was straightforward and the unit cools wonderfully. Very happy with retailer and with the unit itself!

by:

I picked up a 2001 R Vision trailer. The AC did not work. I purchased this AC through etrailer. It shipped faster than expected. All items came as expected Sarah, who I spoke to on the phone gave me some great advice and recommendations. The AC is a do it yourself project The ac installed very simply Instructions were very clear. The AC blows ice cold. Install and removal between two and three hours. The fitment of the AC was perfect To do any extra cutting or wiring it was all simple plug and play. Follow the instructions step-by-step and torque it down to 45 inch pounds.

by:

Very easy install
It needs to get hotter
here in Washington state for me to actually give it a good test. I put it in our old 28 year-old 16 foot Nash travel trailer. Now this trailer is my hunting rig. We bought bigger one for our retirement trailer.

by:

I was told capacitor only will take two more days to deliver. NOT TRUE waited for no reason- cap still (which i need) still not in stock. Very dissapointing recd airbox woth shipping box ripped in the end as i will need to order cap and who onows when it will be avail.

by:

Looks like you sent me a return dented inside and out fan would not turn copper tubing bent missing parts on distribution box. I got it to work. Expected it to blow cooler POS should have paid more for a brand new unit

Still working great. No issues at this point. Would purchase again.

by:

Originally submitted a complaint of my brand new Advent unit not working, A/C Compressor kicks on but no fan operation. I was told that there's been issues with Advent not operating properly with factory Coleman controls even though I purchased an adapter harness. Per eTrailer recommendation after I explained the unit has a bad blower motor, I was told I need to order Advents overhead control box that's designed for the Advent unit and guess what??? The blower motor is still inoperative.

by:

I received the Advent Air Conditioner Ceiling Assembly in a timely manner. I am happy to get this item.

by:

Love this product. I bought this to replace my carrier a/c unit because my thermostat wasn't working properly Boy, does it blow out the coldest air. I would recommend this product to anyone. Made the right decision, would buy again in the future.

Very good product. Works great

by:

This was a great replacement for the dometic oem unit in my hybrid camper. The ability r flow is even from front to back, the oem unit favored the rear exit so my back bunk was always cold and the front was hot. Great unit, easy install and has worked well for the past year.

by:

by:

Seamless ordering and seamless install on most of your products that a every day Joe can do with out going to a shop.

by:

Everything Works just as it should. Was delivered on time and in perfect condition.

by:

A little noisy but blowing cold. It's on high and I haven't installed cover.

by:

Does not cool well at all. Have to use portable air conditioner to help keep camper cool. Would not recommend this product at all.

by:

Perfect fit. Looks great

by:

  • Is There A Replacement Freeze Sensor For The Advent Air # ACDB Air Distribution Box
Hey Cody, The Air Distribution Box # ACDB actually doesn't have a freeze sensor like the # ACRG15 does. This only has a copper wire poking out of the back of the controller as a temperature wire to tell the system to kick according to the temperature you have set. Is your unit freezing up and not working properly or are you having a different issue?

  • Parts Needed For A Complete Advent Air Low Profile Air Conditioner System
Hey Chad, You'll need an air distribution box to go with your rooftop unit # ADV79FR to get the other half of the system. You could go with the # ACDB if you want the controls built into the air distribution box or the # ACRG15 if you'd prefer a wall mounted thermostat. If you go with the wall mounted thermostat then you'll also need to pick up some wiring to run from the thermostat to controller built into the air distribution box. While not necessary it is recommended to also install...

  • Is The Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner # ADV79FR Compatible With The # ACDB
Hey Jon, Yes, the Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner # ADV79FR is compatible with the Air Distribution Box # ACDB. This would have the controls on the air distribution box instead of a wall mounted thermostat. We don't currently have any systems with a wireless remote. You'll want to doublecheck the BTU rating of your current unit and make sure you have a 13,500BTU rating. If you have a 15,000BTU rating or you just want to upgrade you can go with the # ADV29FR instead.

Hello Tim. We can definitely set you up with a complete AC system with an Advent low profile unit. We currently do not offer these parts as a package, but you can purchase all of the exact same components separately. To answer your question, yes, the same air handler will work with the low-profile unit. • How To Install The Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System With ACTH12 Thermostat
If you have the ACTH12 then you should also have the Air Distribution Box # ACRG15 which will have a control box for your wiring from the rooftop unit # ACM135 and the thermostat. This air distribution box and thermostat will wire up exactly the same as the standard air distribution box # ACDB. I've attached the wiring diagram for each part of this system to help you with this installation.

Hi Irving, The Electric Heat Strip for Advent Air RV Air Conditioners # ACMHD can be installed in the Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner # ADV29FR and controlled with the heat mode of the air distribution box/thermostat # ACDB or # ACRG15 but wouldn't be able to be thermostatically controlled. You would have to manually set the unit into heat strip mode.

  • Recommended Advent Air Replacement For A Dometic Duo-Therm AC System Model # 59036.501
I spoke with Dometic and was able to determine that your model is a 1st generation 15,000BTU unit. The tech couldn't tell me if there would be a 6-pin or 9-pin connector for the rooftop unit and was unsure that a new unit would actually be able to communicate properly with the controller and thermostat. • Recommendations For Adding AC To A 14 X 8 Enclosed Trailer
We can definitely help set you up. For a 14' x 8' enclosed trailer, I believe a 13,500 BTU unit would be sufficient. I recommend the Advent Air # ACM135. Advent makes a solid AC unit, which will fit perfectly in the 14" hatch on the roof. Keep in mind the roof does need to be between 2-1/2" and 5" thick in order to install this unit. As far as your controls, you have two options. You can either use a manual distribution box # ACDB, which will put your controls on the ceiling right above...

  • How To Make An Advent Air Heat Strip Work With An Advent Unit In A Dometic System
If your Dometic controller doesn't have a port for the Advent Air Heat Strip # ACMHD to plug into then the only way to make it work would be to swap out the air distribution box/controller with either the manual control # ACDB or wall control # ACRG15. This would give you a compatible controller for the heat strip to plug into and would essentially fully swap you over from a Dometic system to an Advent Air system.

Relatively speaking yes, you'll just swap out your GE AC with a different AC like the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner # ACM150 with the Air Distribution Box w/ Built-In Thermostat for Advent Air RV Air Conditioners # ACDB as your existing distribution box and thermostat are not going to be compatible. This AC has a 15.5K BTU capacity, will fit roofs that are 2-1/2" to 5" thick, and is compatible with ducted & ductless systems.
