Good morning, I have a 2024 Forester Wilderness and will be carrying a roof top tent this summer. The tent weight is 140 pounds. Thanks! Tanya

I'm assuming you're wanting a roof rack to hold your tent since you looked at the Malone AirFlow2 # MAL74AR. I would double check the requirements of your roof tent to be sure, but this roof rack should be able to handle it. For example, a tent like the Yakima SkyRise # Y07436 requires a roof and roof rack with a minimum capacity of 165 lbs. The Malone rack would meet those requirements.
If you only plan to use the roof rack when you use the tent the Malone is a good option. If you want to keep the roof rack on all the time I would get something nicer that won't be really noisy while you're driving around. The best option for that would be the Yakima JetStream roof rack. For the complete rack you will need # Y00425 and # Y33TR. The design of the JetStream bars reduces drag and makes them extremely quiet. This also has a capacity of 165 lbs.

Thanks Robin… I wasn’t clear…. My 2024 Forester Wilderness has raised roof rails; therefore, I’d only require the crossbars. I’m renting the tent and plan on removing the crossbars when I’m not needing them as I have a panoramic sunroof. Thanks for your suggestions! Yakima and Thule out of my financial range right now.
