Video Transcript for Kodiak Wheel Bolt Feature Review

Today we're going to look at the Kodiak replacement drive-in trailer hub wheel stud. It's a half-inch in diameter and two inches in length, and it's a quantity of one. Now, this half-inch stud is designed to replace a damage wheel stud on your trailer hub. The raised spline portion right down here of the stud is what will be driven or pressed in to your trailer hub. This stud is what will go through the bolt hole on your trailer wheel. When used with a wheel lug nut, will hold your tire and wheel to your axle. These are stamped as a grade-eight bolt.

The thread end size, again, is half-inches by 20 threads per inch, and uses a standard half-inch by 20 lug nut. I happened to pull one of those lug nuts like this one right here, and you can see they just screw right on to the end once you put your wheel and tire assembly on, you just put your lug nuts on and torque them to the correct specs. Just to give you the measurements the overall length which you measure from the bottom of the head to the very end of the bolt, you can see is right at two inches. The threaded portion is right at about one-and-a-half inches long. Then, the spline diameter is going to be .54 inches. That should do it for the review on the Kodiak replacement drive-in trailer hub wheel stud, half-inch diameter by two inches in length for a quantity of one..

Based on caliper measurements, this wheel stud is a perfect fit for our older RV. Unfortunately, I needed it sooner than it arrived, so now it is a spare sitting in my tool box. etrailer.com has a great website making it easy to find and ensure the part you are ordering is the correct size/fit. I have ordered larger, more costly items from etrailer (e.g. class III trailer hitch) for other vehicles and won't hesitate for those bigger items. That said, I found a kit with 5 studs with the same rating and measurements at a local store at a cheaper price. These pressed into the hub easily with a lug nut and my impact wrench, so I expect the stud from etrailer will do the same. Until I can't find these wheel studs locally, I will think twice about reordering this item based on the cost, both item and shipping, and time it took to arrive.

This part is a wheel bolt which is designed to be driven into the hub with nuts to attach the wheel. Is that the purpose you are using this bolt for?

by:

The right size worked perfectly, Hopefully, I never have to do this again. but thank you

by:

Recieved all of my items( wheel assemblys, chrome lug nuts and studs) and upon first inspection it looks like everything is top notch in regard to fit and finsh. I will update when I get the time to complete the work on my trailer. Price was excellent for the quality of the items.

I am refurbishing my 20 year old boat trailer. I had to destroy several of the wheel lug bolts in order to remove the wheels from the hubs. I had a hard time finding replacement bolts. ETRAILER.COM HAD WHAT I NEEDED! I received the bolts in very timely manner! They installed and worked perfectly!

Thanks ETRAILER.COM. I now know where to go for trailer parts

by:

Thanks for shipping my order so quickly both times. The first time I ordered the wrong size, but the one that I got today was just what we needed for our camper. Thanks for you quick shipping on both orders. We are keeping you email address in case we need anything else.

by:

Another product that I purchased for my 10K lb trailer build. These studs will be used to mount my spare tire to the trailer. Quality looks to be pretty good.

by:

The wheel tire and wheel bolt and nuts have preformed very well, no problems

by:

Every item I ordered worked and fit exactly as I had hoped it would. Prices and shipping was top notch and will definitely buy from e-trailer again.

by:

Great product! I ordered what I thought was the right size, but the spline is a hair too small... I got exactly what I ordered, I just didn't measure right.. I need to get real calipers LOL.. No plan to return them because I'm sure I'll need them one day. Fast shipping and I'm satisfied!

by:

These wheel studs fit my oddball trailer hub perfectly. The guys at etrailer were a huge help in finding the correct parts as well.

by:

The lug I was looking for fit our trailer wheels. Exact replacement.

by:

Lugs and nuts fit perfectly.
Could
not get them locally but etrailer web site gave measurement instruction to insure ordering the right parts.

by:

What can I say, The site was easy to navigate and the wheel studs I found were a direct match to the ones on my particular trailer. They were shipped very quickly and took only a couple of days to be delivered. I've bookmarked this site for future trailer needs!

by:

Ordered lug bolts and nuts to repair a 20 year old drum. Good prices, fast delivery, my trailer is back on the road. Replacing the bolts as opposed to the drum saved $50 or so dollars

by:

I think they would work just wonderful for securing wheels to a wheel hub. I purchased them just because they are a beautiful gold color. It was like getting a bag of gold in the mail.

by:

Perfect replacement lugs (springs and hardware) for my trailer wheel rotors.

by:

Had to call for tech help , very knowledgable with products. Didn't get transferred to someone else like most other places. took my order promptly over phone. Delivered on time as told. Great to do business with.

by:

Used these to lengthen the studs on my kendon trailer. Worked great, fast shipping

by:

I had a hard time locating this part and searched several websites and manufacturers before finding it one etrailer.com. I have purchased other items from this supplier and have had good luck with all of it.

  • Looking For Replacement Wheel Studs For Karavan Trailer
Hello Scott, thanks for reaching out. We may have a wheel stud that will work for you, but there is no way to use your VIN or year/make/model to look up what wheel stud you will need. Trailer manufacturers just are not that specific with their online literature, and there is no universal VIN database for trailers. There are other ways to determine what you need though. One way would be with the casting number on the hub. I might be able to use that to look up specs, depending on what...

  • Looking For Wheel Studs For Dexter 4,400 lb Axle
Hello Ray, thanks for reaching out. I do know the Dexter 4,400 lb axles and hubs use 1/2" studs, but I do not have a way to look up the Dexter part number or SN to get any specs beyond that. Since we know its 1/2" basically I would just need to know the spline length and diameter to make sure it matches what you have now. If you can get ahold of Dexter they might be able to run the SN and give you that info, but I am not sure if their records or build sheets get that specific. Your...

No, I am sorry they will not Chuck. The Wheel Lock Set for 1/2" Wheel Bolts (2 Locks, 1 Key) item # RG01-150 fits 1/2-20 wheel bolts like item # K12WB2. You would need to get those metric bolts out and replace them because we do not have a set of wheel locks that fit a 12mm x 1.75 coarse bolt. What kind of spare tire mount is it?

Hey Larry, I would recommend going with a stainless steel lug nut like the part # LHLR103 that matches the specs you need. Stainless steel won't rust or corrode. This means they won't swell up either making it hard to fit a socket on.

  • Looking For Replacement Wheel Studs For 2023 Alliance Paradigm 382RK 5th Wheel
Hello, and thanks for getting in touch. We may have a replacement wheel stud for you, but there is no way to look up your camper to know exactly what size you would need. RV manufacturers just do not list this kind of information online. If you can find a part number on your hub we MIGHT be able to look it up that way depending what you have. Aside from that the only way to really know what you need would be to remove a wheel stud and measure it. Not exactly practical for a trailer you...
