Video Transcript for Review of JR Products Propane - Hoses - 37207-30785

Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with eTrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the JR Products propane hose. Like most of your propane hoses, this is going to connect between your gas tank and your RVs regulator to provide that flow of propane to your RV to power those propane-powered appliances. Now, there are a few things you'd want to look for when deciding on which propane hose is going to be right for you. The first thing, is going to be the length.

Obviously you want it to be able to reach between your tank and your regulator on your RV. This hose is four feet long. I just measured it a moment ago and it was right about 49 inches, so it's going to give you a little bit of wiggle room to work with there. The hose itself is made of a rubber construction that's going to help reduce any sort of kinks or cracking, anything like that. It's got an inner diameter of a quarter of an inch, which is pretty standard for these hoses. It's going to provide plenty of room for your propane to flow through, to power up those appliances.

The next thing that you want to look for is your propane or your hose fittings. So we've got two different fittings here. This one here, the big green one, it's an RV type-1 ACMe or sometimes known as a QCC-1 connection. These are going to screw onto the outer threads of your tank valve. It's going to be pretty universal.

It's going to work with almost all your gas cylinders. I like this because it threads on clockwise, so for those of us who know the method of righty tighty, lefty loosey, it's going to be very easy to use. We're not going to have to think about it. There are some other connectors out there that thread on the inside of the valve and you have to tighten them the other direction. It can be a little bit confusing. You have to pay attention to what you're doing.

This is going to be very easy to use. You can just tighten it by hand. You're not going to have to have any special tools or anything like that. Another nice thing about this QCC-1 connection, it's got an internal back-check that's going to prevent gas from leaking out of the regulator inlet. If too much gas flows through, it's going to go into your bypass mode, which is going to shut down your pressure to the minimum pressure to help reduce any gas loss or combustion. It senses that gas leak by how much gas is flowing through. So if you're using a lot of propane, you're running all your appliances at once or something, you're probably not going to have to worry about that. The bypass mode is set pretty high, so you're going to have a high flow rate. You're going to be able to use all those appliances without having to worry about it, but if you do get a gas leak, it will enter that bypass mode as a safety measure. The other end here is our quarter-inch male inverted flare. So while this is pretty standard, our QCC is going to work with almost all of our gas tanks. Our inverted flare end is kind of hit or miss. Some of your regulators have them, some of them have a different fitting on them. A quick rule of thumb to check, if you are a regulator has a gold adapter fitting, it's most likely going to use the male inverted flare, so go out and check your regulator. If you see that gold adapter fitting, this could be the hose that you're needing. Keep in mind, this hose is designed for LP gas only, so don't use any other kind of gas with it.Of course, LP stands for liquid propane. You don't want to use water or anything else in this hose. It's just for your LP gas. This hose is UL and CSA approved, so it's going to hold up to those standards. Going to do a good job for you, and if this isn't the hose that you need, maybe you've got a different adapter on your regulator or you need a longer hose hose or a shorter hose, maybe. I encourage you to come and look at our other options here at eTrailer.com. Our goal is always to help you find the product that you need to solve your problem so you can get back to enjoying your time outdoors. That's going to complete our look at the JR Products propane hose.

Great propane hose. It is cold we’re I’m at and the hose is still very flexible. I purchased two other brand of hoses last week and both were stiff and leaked at the 1/4 inch crimped fitting straight out of the pack. This hose was a little more expensive but very well worth it. This product will definitely save you money and be less trouble. I stay in my Rv a lot because I travel for my job and I won’t make the mistake of buying anymore propane hoses from anywhere else. Great product and highly recommended these if you ever have to replace your old ones.

Been trailering for many years (30) and owned about 5 different RV's. Never had to replace propane hoses or regulator. Never have liked the stock hoses on any of my rigs but never bothered with replacing them. I would now!!! I really like how supple, flexable, these hoses are. Maybe with age they'll get stiff like the stock hoses but i don't think so. Factory hoses are stiff from factory!! New hoses Seem to be made with the type of hose used with automotive or farming (hydraulic} lines. Overall and first impression, I really like these hoses. I'm going to like the 48" hose for using a 3rd, reserve, propane tank on extended camping trips. Also purchased a 15" hose. I wanted a 24" but it was on back order. 15" ok but I think a 24" would be better.
I hate the 12" hoses on most factory RV's!!! I also like that these hoses come with a "BACK CHECK" valve internal. Great feature! Must have in my opinion!! My originals didn't have valve.

  • Propane Hose to Run From a 100 lb. Propane Tank to a Propane Regulator
While we do have a hose that will do what you are needing, the Propane Hose with Back Check # 37207-30785 would not be the correct option. This is because a 100 lb. propane tank is going to require a POL tank connection instead of a type 1 connection. Instead you will want to use the MB Sturgis Propane Supply Hose # 100202. Or the Propane Hose - POL Pigtail # 37207-30685 if you have an auto change-over regulator because auto change-over regulators typically have a FIF fitting.

  • Adding an External 20 Pound Propane Tank to Supplement Onboard RV Propane Tank
Yes, you can do this, but to be clear, we will add a Tee fitting that will allow you to use your onboard propane tank and an outdoor 20 pound tank. You cannot use this to refill or add to the primary onboard tank. You can use the JR Products # 37207-30135 Propane T-Fitting to go between the onboard tank and the POL connector currently attached to the tank. Then use a JR Products # 37207-30785 pigtail to connect your 20 pound tank. You didn't ask about this but you can optionally use...
