Today, on our 2010 Chevrolet Traverse, we'll be doing a test fit on the CIPA Deluxe Door Mount Towing Mirror, part number 11650. It offers a wide field of view. It's going to allow us to safely and easily change lanes, pass, park, or even back up, while towing a trailer. The mirror can be rotated to the left or right. It can be adjusted to most angles. By loosening up the twin knobs here, it will allow us to extend our mirror out to better suit our towing needs.
Once we've got it set, we just tighten it back down. By loosening up this knob down here, it's going to allow us to adjust the angle of our platform so it doesn't obstruct our factory mirror. It's not going to interfere with the operation of our factory mirror, though we will not be able to rotate our mirror in. It's also not going to interfere with the use of our window. The mirror size is 8 inches long by 5 inches wide. It comes in a quantity of 1 and is reversible, so if you'd like to pick up a second one for the other side, just use the same part number. I'm here at the passenger side of my Chevrolet Traverse, and I just want to point out that even though it looks like a complicated installation, it's actually very, very simple.
The top of the platform here simply clips onto our windowsill. Then, the belt comes down. We've got this adjustment piece that we can adjust to contour our door. It's got a pad here, so it won't harm the finish of our vehicle. The belt continues down here, hooks onto the bottom of our door.
That, too, is padded, so it doesn't scratch the finish. Then, once we have both of those in place, we make our way back up the belt. We come up to our key, and then we tighten it down, and it holds it in place. Then, we're ready to tow. When we're done towing, and we want to release the tension on our towing mirror, we come up to this tab right here. We push down, and it releases the tension.
Then, we can take it off. That's going to complete our test fit on the CIPA Deluxe Door Mount Towing Mirror, part number 11650, on our 2010 Chevrolet Traverse.

Product works just as advertised. And your helpful product videos made it refreshingly easy to choose the exact product I needed. I also received a free shipping upgrade so my order came in earlier than expected. Stellar Customer Service. I'll be sure to spread the word. Thank you etrailer!
Towing Mirror (2) PT#11650 well made product strong including the straps seat belt quality and grade very easy to put on & take off infact I kept the box they came in so when I'm not using them I store them in the box they came in.. Rubber on all connecting points to protect paint / body .. sorry no pix's to show I do use them on a 2011 Silverado 1500 towing a 5th. wheel.. Now have a 17 inch. beyond the door view down the side of the RV when backing up that you do NOT have with stock mirror
Have had these mirrors out with my 19' travel trailer several times now,
there have been no issues, they work very well. After having shopped quite
extensively, I would buy these mirrors again.
Happy Camper.
Took them out of the box and had them on and adjusted in 5 minutes. I kept them on to show them to my wife then in 15 seconds removed them. We have a Toyota 4runner and needed to see around our 23ft trailer and we can. Haven't road tested yet but not worried as they locked down tight when I set them up. Much better product then the kind you fit onto your existing mirrors. JB
I couldn't get the ones recommended for the Avalanche because it has the chrome caps on the side view mirrors.
Even though the website said that the11650 might not work on my 2011 Avalanche, they worked just fine. I had a pretty good idea they would because the door on the 2010 Silverado, in one of the videos, was the same as my Avalanche door. Maybe some 2011 Avalanches have a plastic strip on the bottom of the door but mine didn't.
They were easy to put together and put on the doors even for a non-mechanical person like me. They will make it much easier and safer for me to tow my travel trailer now and when I am not towing I can store them in my workroom.
Great tow mirrors. My only wish is the aluminum bar extension might be an inch longer. Otherwise great product. Added spot mirrors, see my other review.
It was about the only product I found that would work with my Dodge Dakota truck. I needed it to see around an enclosed snowmobile trailer. It would be nice if the ratchet mechanism was on the other side that way if you only want one on the drivers side door you would be to put the mirror assembly closer to the truck mirror.
This is a good quality portable set-up for pulling an RV trailer. Used it one time for a 200 mile trip. Worked flawlessly.
Side view extension mirrors for towing. CIPA deluxe door mount mirror
Well made... not cheap materials. easy to install.. easy to take on and off.
Only problem.. my Ford door is not a true flat slightly convex surface and there is a space between the strap and the door on the lower part of the door. This allows for the strap to vibrate at speeds over 30 mph and it makes a terrific roar. I am going to have to find a way to fill this space.. plan on gluing some insulating material to fill the space.
These are the best mirrors we have had to tow our camper. When you set the mirror for the driver they stay in place and do not need to be readjusted time and time again!

Out of use. Unable to find replacement parts.
The mirrors arrived exactly as advertised. Installing them took only a few minutes. Adjusting for our trailer took a second person and needed only a few minutes each. There is a vibration from one of the straps which will have to be dealt with. Otherwise, they work great

We have put many hours and miles on these mirrors. There has never been any problem with them. We recommend using a seat belt chest pad between the lower strap and the door which eliminates any vibration. Highly recommended
These are the only towing mirrors that I have found that work very well on our 2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Simple install took 15 minutes max and only required a 12mm wrench and a pair of channel lock pliers. And I really don't think that these mirrors will come off on the road and end up in the ditch. Thanks etrailer.
Bought this product for my 2016 Toyota Tacoma 4 door TRD sport. Towing a 28 ft travel trailer. These mirrors work great. Very little vibration . Easy installation. 15 minutes from unpackaging to mounted. For the money there are great a great Buy, and I would recommend them to anyone.
Have a small camper I tow with a mid-size SUV. Most extender options would not go out wide enough to see around the trailer. These are certainly wide enough. Used it on a one month camping/road trip with the family, and on a few shorter trips since. honestly, despite the effort required to get them set-up & adjusted initially, they were a total life-saver. Really glad I had them. If your towing a camper, without a full-size truck or SUV, these might be the best solution out there for side-views.
Cons:
- a bit clunky to install and store
- really difficult to adjust, so if your switching drivers a lot, consider that.
- drive carefully. I never had an issue, but if you aren't paying attention and tag another side-view mirror on a parked car with one of these while driving down the road, pretty sure it would break your car window.
Pros:
- Very long extension
- Pretty robust design, not flimsy like others I've used. No Problem at freeway speed.
- mirror & aluminum support bar can be removed with ease, with the steel frame being left on the vehicle. This was nice, because when we weren't towing, I could easily take the end piece off, and the remaining steel frame didn't stick-out any further than the vehicle's normal side-view mirror.
These mirrors appear well built and up to the job but they don't really fit my 2004 Tundra very well. The sliding piece along the webbing doesn't land on my door in a place that protects the door from damage. The appropriate place for it doesn't allow the arm to sit horizontally and the mirror ends up too low. Great service from Etrailer, as always.

I returned these and purchased the Longview mirrors ctm400 which work much better and are very stable.

Mirror a bit small, would have liked it larger. The extension bar is a bit short could be a couple of inches longer. Currently I have it mounted on a Coachmen Prizm Motor home with a Mercedes Benz Sprinter Cab Chassis. The mirrors on the chassis are twice the size of this ad on. But it does reach out past the canopy frame rails that Coachman put on. They are about 3 inches thick. Once you have used it a while and it has gotten wet a fe time ,You tighten everything up and it stays. No vibration once good and tight.

Very Well! No vibration or shake. just wish the head was larger.
Product was probably useful for someone else, but not me. Poor fit on Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck, I hate the attachment system, and field of vision was not sufficiently improved to make me feel comfortable towing the enclosed car trailer the mirror extension was used for. I sold the big trailer, and now tow an open car trailer or a small fiberglass camping trailer. Neither one requires the accessory strap-on mirror, and I am much happier using the stock Colorado mirror system.

If you need to consider a different style of towing mirrors we do have other options that are universal fit style and that mount on your Colorados mirror, the door frame mounts are not for everyone. I have provided a link to the other options that we have confirmed as a fit for your Colorado.

Just received my two side mirrors, and installed them on my 1938 1-1/2 ton Chevrolet stake truck. Great quality, easy to install, and they now allow me to see around the side of the truck. Thanks for offering such a great product.
Mirrors work well fit my 2015 Toyota Highlander. Makes towing my Travel Trailor much easier. Would give 5 stars if a little easier to adjust. Have travelled about 2000 miles with them.
etrailer was great, received fast delivery. The product was fine except not a very good fit for my Toyota FJ due to the door curvature. Would work it's way loose when driving.
2006 Toyota Sequoia SR5.
The mirrors install easily and extend far enough to give us a good view of our 27 foot travel trailer. They have a good field of view and gave us plenty of confidence in lane changes, turns, and backing. Do be aware that when the straps get wet they get loose, so tighten them when it rains.
My only complaints are:
1. They do shimmy a bit at speed - not enough to be a hazzard but it is something of which you should be aware.
2. Over time the shimmy does move them out of position, so you will need to reposition them and check them at least once a day. One kept turning inward, the other kept pointing down.
All that being said, however, there are precious few options for vehicles of this type, and having tried others I do have to say these are the best.
I installed these mirrors as well as Cipa 5" spot mirrors for towing a travel trailer with my Jeep Liberty CRD. Setup was pretty straight forward. Because I was also attaching the spot mirrors, I bought a longer bolt to hold the mirror head to the arm. I was not comfortable with the amount of threads after going through additional brackets.
Going down the road, vibration was minimal and I felt 100% confident in the setup. I had no problems passing other vehicles and merging in traffic.
2 things keep this from being a 5 star product. 1st, tightening the strap on the drivers side is a bit hard because the T-handle is not reversible. The OEM mirror is in the way. Luckily, on my Jeep, the mirror also folds forward to make it a little easier to get to. I would suggest that Cipa use a removable T-handle with a 1/4" square on either end of the assemble so that you can tighten from either side, or use a 1/4" ratchet if you misplace the T-handle.
The other thing that keeps this from 5 stars is the mirror head. I feel that it is cheaply made. I notice when adjusting, the bottom of the mirror head would flex where the bolt threads into the head. I found that to adjust the mirror head vertically, I would have to cup the back of the mirror, holding both the top and bottom, as not to flex the head.
All in all, this is a great product, and after the initial setup and adjustment, these mirrors come on and off in minutes.
Very well made product; simple design and is sturdy. No shaking or vibration experenced. Used on 2014 Toyota Tacoma Crew Cab. Very pleased with this purchase, towing an 18' car hauler. Now for the negatives: extremely poor instructions; installs best with two people; suggest a list of tools be added, i.e. pliers. Strap tightening device works, but I could not operate it bare-handed. Mirror tightening system not very user friendly. All bolts should be hexhead, not plastic knobs.
I give this product 5 Stars.
I mounted these on my 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport. I have an 8.5 foot wide enclosed snowmobile trailer that I need to haul. I have no rear view with the stock mirrors. These mirrors provide excellent rear view on both sides of my vehicle. They are very easy to mount, are very solid, and cause no damage. I highly recommend this product.
I mounted the mirror on the passenger side of my 1978 3/4 ton Chevy pickup. The mirror mounted easily, did not even need to read the instructions.
Tomorrow will be the real test when I drive 11 miles into town, fill my water tank, and return home. I am concerned that the hand tight bolts and screws will not withstand 11 miles over a dirt road and I will have to stop often and readjust them or they will vibrate out. Either way tomorrow is the big test.

Have been using the mirror as described above for a year now. once in a while I do have to readjust the mirror due to the rough roads but other than that it works great.

Have not moved the trailer since the first move. Found that this mirror set-up was necessary for safe transport, especially in high traffic areas when lane changing was a common ocurrence.
