Question:
Will these mirrors work with a Chevy 2015 LTZ Duramax 2500? I may have read incorrectly that the factory mirrors have an outdoor temperature sensor used by the engine and transmission. Is this correct? If there is a factory sensor, does this mirror unit also contain one?

K-Source Custom Extendable Towing Mirrors # KS62135-36G are a confirmed fit for your 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 LTZ with power/heated mirrors. These towing mirrors retain the power, heat and turn signal functions of the OEM mirrors and they install using the same mounting points.
I reviewed the online owner's manual for the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 and the section concerning mirrors provides a lot of good information but makes no mention of a thermometer being installed. If one is present, that function will cease to operate if you replace OEM mirrors with new ones like the K-Source # KS62135-36G that do not have that function already built in.
You may prefer the option of universal-fit door-mount towing mirror like # 11650. These are sold individually and fit both sides of the truck. Using these would allow you to keep your standard mirrors and all of their built-in functions, while still having an extended rear view when towing. The linked videos will provide additional information on these two CIPA products.
