I pulled one of our CIPA Universal Door Mount Mirrors, # CM45000, and took some measurements for you. The distance from the top mounting bar to the closest edge of the mirror is 8-3/4 inches. From that same bar to the center of the mirror is 13-1/4 inches (see photo).
Once this mirror is installed and the final angle adjustments are set, you may only have about half of the mirror extending past the extended sides of the RV.
Another option that you may be interested in is the CIPA Deluxe Door Mount Mirror, # 11650. This mirror was not intended to be a permanently mounted mirror, but it is adjustable. At is widest adjustment, the closes edge of the mirror measures 14 inches and the center of the mirror measures 18-1/4 inches (see photo).
