The Thule TracRac SR Sliding Truck Bed Ladder Rack is built for serious hauling. With a 1,250-lb carrying capacity, it handles everything from long boards and ladders to kayaks and pipe. The 69-1/2" crossbars give you plenty of space across the top, and at 32-11/16" tall with the base rails installed, there’s plenty of clearance above the bed. The wide base on each upright adds stability, so even when the rack is loaded, it won’t flex or wobble under weight.
Instead of being locked in one position, both uprights slide along the full length of the bed on T-track base rails. That makes it easy to shift the rack forward or back depending on the load. Just loosen the quick-release clamping knobs to move each upright, then tighten them to lock in place. When you need open bed space, the uprights can slide together or come off the rails entirely.
The rack’s 6000-series aluminum construction is lightweight but tough, so it won’t sap your payload or rust out over time. Thule adds a dual-stage powder coat with an e-coat base and a clear topcoat that resists scratches and corrosion. That means it’ll hold up through years of weather, work, and road grime without losing its finish.
With eight total tie-down accessories included, securing gear is simple. Four heavy-duty load stops mount into the top slots of the crossbars and slide along them for quick adjustment, while four side cleats attach to the uprights for extra strap points. Each load stop has built-in loops to anchor tie-downs or bungee cords, keeping long or bulky items locked in place while you drive.
The elliptical crossbars are designed to reduce wind resistance, and built-in airfoil trip strips stop the whistle you get with square or open-slot bars. The result is a smoother ride with less drag and noise, even when the rack is empty. That streamlined design makes this rack just as at home on daily drives as it is on job sites or weekends at the water.
