How Do the TracRac Sliding Ladder Racks Attach to Truck Bed Rails

Question:

I would like more information on how this rack attaches to the truck bed-rail? I plan to mount a 200 lb roof tent, and will be on rocky dirty roads with it. My last rack started coming apart and I luckily caught it before it was too late. Its critical the equipment holds up when youre 2 days from the closest highway.

I attached a picture that shows an exploded diagram of how the TracRac Ladder rack part # TH43003XT-501 installs to a truck bed. Basically the rails install down into the stake pockets of the bed rails to provide a secure attachment.

This is one of the nicest ladder racks on the market that would work well for you. The sliding uprights make this rack also very versatile. The weight capacity of this rack is 1,250 lbs so it would have more than enough capacity.
