You're swapping out your RV's AC and need the rest of the system to match. This installation kit from GE Appliances gives you the air distribution box, wall thermostat, and control board you'll need to complete a ducted setup.
It's recommended to mount the thermostat between 4' and 5' above the floor. Do not mount it on an outside wall, in direct sunlight, behind a door, or near a vent.

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this GE Appliances ducted upgrade kit for RV air conditioners. Now, this kit is designed to modernize or replace outdated components in your RV's air conditioning ducted system, particularly if you're upgrading to or already using a GE rooftop air conditioner. This is going to fit RV roof openings that measure 14 3/8 inches long by 14 3/8 inches wide. And this includes everything that you see here on my table before me. You're gonna get this air distribution box.
As you know, this is the interior unit that's going to distribute the cooled air into your RV. And an upgraded air distribution box often gives you better airflow, quieter operation, and more efficient cooling. This is built to handle road vibrations in everyday RV life. It includes the four bolts and other hardware to install the AC and the air distribution box in your camper. And looking at some measurements here, the overall width and length is going to be 17 5/8 inches.
And then when you have this installed into your ceiling, it's gonna be sticking out from your ceiling, about 5/8 of an inch or so. So it's not gonna take up a whole lot of head space. Give you a quick view of the other side there. This is the portion, obviously, that's gonna go up into your ceiling. And then, you are going to get the air divider that you see right here.
And then, we also get this control box here. This is basically the brains of the operation. Let me bring this up a little bit closer. This is fireproof. So this is going to manage how your AC unit operates.
If you're wondering about some measurements, the overall length is 7.5 inches, the overall width, 6 7/8 inches. And the overall thickness, about 2 3/8 inches. And then, our single zone thermostat, this is a black single zone thermostat. And this does have easy-to-use buttons, as you can see, in a large backlit display. And this is recommended to be mounted between four and five feet above the floor. You wanna make sure that you don't mount this on an outside wall or indirect sunlight or behind a door or near a vent or duct. And if you're wondering about measurements with this on the width and the length, 3.5 inches, the thickness, one inch. It does include the hardware as well to get that installed on your wall right here. So everything that you see here is included with this upgrade kit. Again, it's gonna work for your ducted systems and we do have a kit for ductless systems as well if you're in need of that. We also have complete air conditioning systems from GE with the air conditioner unit and then the air distribution box. It's either gonna be fitted for your ducted or ductless systems and then the control box and the thermostat. So if you are looking for the whole kit, the whole system, take a look at our other GE offerings, and I'm confident you'll be able to find exactly what you're looking for for your particular application. Well, I think that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
Everything went together perfectly.
